We had our first Kids’ Cafe today!! We learned about kitchen safety, handwashing & making safe choices while cooking. We identified different kitchen tools and ingredients. We also used cinnamon to represent the dirt and germs found on our hands & washed them off! We decorated our hat & apron, discussed everything in our tool kit then made our first treat!!
We made a “tortilla sandwich” as the kids named it! (Tortilla, Sunbutter, Banana & Chocolate Chips)

The Little Hoots explored FIRE 🔥 & ICE 🧊
They discussed how FIRE is HOT & what colors a fire is.
Then they got to make their very own campfire! They used Orange & Red paint and applied it to their hands. Then they used their hands and "stamped" them to make their fires. They got to explore what the paint felt like on their hands.
This activity helped work on many skills such as- fine motor, sensory, creative expression, color recognition, and shape recognition!

Today, the Centipedes spent some time painting picture holders! They each got to take turns at this center to create them!
This activity helped strengthen their fine motor skills- as they carefully held and used the paint brushes. It also encouraged creativity and self expression by allowing them to make their own artistic choices. As they chose the colors to paint with they worked on decision making skills & math skills (color recognition).
It was so much fun seeing everyone’s creativity and unique designs! 🎨🫟

Today the Wily Komodos and Little Explorer classroom took a field trip to the Sandwich Fire Department. The kids were able to explore the fire trucks and of course spraying the fire hose!
