Friday check-in. How did your week really go?

Forget asking if you felt motivated or if you had the “perfect” week.

Ask yourself one question:

Did your routine hold up?

Motivation comes and goes. A good routine is what keeps you moving forward when life gets busy.

Here’s how I like to wrap up each week:

Take an honest look back.
Review your workouts, sleep, nutrition, stress, and energy. No guilt. No excuses. Just be honest about what happened.

Give yourself credit.
Maybe you squeezed in a workout when you were exhausted. Maybe you made one healthier choice than you would have last month. Those wins matter. Progress is built through consistent, everyday decisions.

Figure out what got in the way.
Instead of saying, “I missed Tuesday’s workout,” ask why. Was your schedule packed? Did you stay up too late? Understanding the reason helps you make a better plan next week.

Pick one commitment for next week.
Not a long list of goals. Just one habit you’ll protect no matter what. Maybe it’s three strength workouts. Maybe it’s a daily walk. Maybe it’s getting to bed 30 minutes earlier.

Small improvements, repeated week after week, lead to big results.

What was your biggest win this week, and what’s the one habit you’re focusing on next week?

Call me crazy…but I think all sales trainings, corporate all-hands, and professional developments should include a push-up contest, shuttle run drill, flex arm hang, sit and reach test, or at the very least a good old fashioned pacer-test.

Hear me out…

What good is developing sales and business skill sets in employees that are chronically ill, suffer from constant fatigue, and feel stressed beyond words from their worries and negative thoughts?

Zero.

Healthy bodies build strong businesses.

Clear and rested minds develop profitable plans and forecasts.

Future fortunes favor the fit.

Three systems. That's all a real fitness routine needs.

Movement — daily, even if it's just 10 minutes
Fuel — protein at every meal, one home-prepped meal a day
Recovery — 7+ hours of sleep, a wind-down routine

Most people try to overhaul all three at once and burn out by week two. Build one system before you add the next. That's the entire secret — there's no hack underneath it.

4 Steps to Reclaiming Your Fitness With a Family

Busy season doesn't end. Waiting for the "right time" to get in shape means waiting forever.

Here's how to build fitness back into a life that's already full:

1. Stop chasing the "perfect" plan.
The best workout program is the one you'll actually do on your worst week, not your best one. A messy 20-minute session beats a perfect 90-minute session you skip.

2. Protect one non-negotiable, not ten.
You don't need to overhaul your entire life this month. Pick one anchor — a morning walk, a protein-forward breakfast, lights out by 10:30 — and build from there. Willpower is a depleting resource. Systems aren't.

3. Your kids are watching the system, not the six-pack.
They won't remember your macros. They'll remember whether you showed up tired and short-tempered, or present and steady. Strength training isn't vanity when you're a parent — it's capacity. Capacity to play, to lift, to keep up.

4. "I don't have time" usually means "I haven't made it non-negotiable yet."
You find time for the things that are truly fixed on your calendar. The goal isn't to find more hours. It's to make your health one of the fixed things.

You're not failing at fitness. You're just trying to run someone else's plan through your actual life.

If you're in the messy middle — good intentions, real history with fitness, but a calendar that doesn't cooperate — I'd love to talk about what this looks like for you specifically.

Between work, kids, workouts, and everything else life throws at us, convenience matters.

That's why I keep 1st Phorm Protein Sticks on hand.

💪 18g of protein per stick
✅ No added sugar
✅ No MSG
✅ No added nitrates
✅ Gluten-free
✅ Made from quality beef and pork sourced and processed in the USA

I’m not a “wake up at 5am and meditate for an hour” kind of guy (although if I can drag my butt out of bed, those early morning workouts are different 🤌). Between my kids and running Sutor Wellness, my routine is more “survive and stay consistent-ish.”

That’s exactly why I built these free tools — a habit tracker plus printable daily and weekly versions. Simple enough for real life, not some influencer’s highlight reel. 💛

Here's your reminder that wellness doesn't have to be all-or-nothing.

You don't need a perfect meal plan.
You don't need a 90-minute workout.
You don't need to "start over" on Monday.

✅ Drink another glass of water.
✅ Take a 10-minute walk.
✅ Go to bed 30 minutes earlier.
✅ Choose progress over perfection.

Small habits, repeated consistently, create big changes over time.

As a husband, dad of three, and wellness professional, I've learned that the healthiest people aren't the ones who do everything perfectly—they're the ones who keep showing up, even on the busy days.

What's one small thing you're doing for your health today? Drop it in the comments and let's encourage each other. 👇

A reminder this weekend…

Big things rarely happen from one big moment.

They happen from small actions repeated over and over again.

Getting up.
Showing up.
Doing the work.

Even when it’s Saturday.
Even when motivation isn’t there.
Even when progress feels slow.

Consistency beats intensity.

Persistence beats talent.

Just keep moving forward — one step at a time.
