An incredibly generous member of our community has selflessly offered a donation to our TT program so that those who may have financial barriers can apply. We are so humbled and grateful that Nevine Michaan has agreed to join us for our teacher training!!! She is the founder of Katonah Yoga and being in her presence is simply amazing. She’ll be running our Katonah Yoga theory modules and we couldn’t be more excited!! More info at link in bio under TEACHER TRAINING 💫

Nevine is the founder of Katonah Yoga in New York. Born in Egypt in 1954, Nevine moved to New York at the age of three. In her early 20’s, while studying history and comparative religion at Vassar College, she discovered meditation. She understood that there is a function, a formality and a fit to the universe and that yoga is a tool, a technique – a practice with repetition which gives us the opportunity to participate in life with intelligence and joy. Nevine started a daily practice in NYC with renowned yoga instructor Allan Bateman in the 1970s and became fully immersed in what would become her life’s work. She began teaching Yoga in 1980, and founded the Katonah Yoga Center in Katonah, New York in 1984. Nevine continues to teach both online and in person through her studio and others’.

Balance isn’t just nice in yoga class - it’s a valuable skill that helps us navigate life, especially as we age. In this clinic, we’ll work on standing balance postures and the mechanics that help keep us stable. We’ll sharpen proprioceptive awareness, work to build specific
strength that supports balance, and practice strategies for rolling with the inevitable. You can expect to work with your feet, play with your drishti, and challenge your balance using a few standing postures. Modifications and progressions will be offered. Falling will be encouraged! Absolutely no experience required.
