A Teacher to You - Greenbush Education and Music Studio

A Teacher to You - Greenbush Education and Music Studio AT2U--GEMS is passionate about music and academics. It's about piano lessons and a whole lot more. If you choose AT2U, the teacher/tutor comes to you.

"A Teacher to You" (AT2U) means you can take piano lessons, or study Algebra with a tutor, or take any of several classes either by private lesson or by class -- at your own home or other location. "Greenbush Education and Music Studio" (GEMS) is located in the heart of Greenbush Township just one block west of U.S. 23. All available classes, tutoring services, and music lessons can be taken at GEMS. Two large studios are equipped to make learning easy and convenient. Music classes are available for very young children -- to learn the fundamentals while having lots of fun and to prepare them for success in any area of music they might pursue. Ask about "Music for Little Mozarts" (ages 4 -- 6) and "Making Music in Motion (ages 7 -- 9). I love to help homeschooling families succeed or help public school kids improve their grades. I enjoy putting on 3 recitals every year with my music students.

GEMStudio is building back!
New openings & specials: Watch for details every day next week!

GEMStudio is gearing up to increase openings for video (zoom) tutoring! Stay tuned for announcements of re-opening specials!

Still listed by Facebook as GEMStudio's most-watched video!
A last-minute creation inspired by one of the students's comments about feeling like she was singing opera. Truth be told, she was learning to sing in the classical method -- the foundation of all singing. But since she felt like she was singing opera, I decided to make that work to help her feel more comfortable in her newly developing vocal improvement.

Love this video . . . love these "kids" (who are now all adults -- and have been for quite some time now!)

Thanks for the memories, GEMStudio "kids!"

GEMS isn't over . . . it's just cut down in size now -- from a high of 27 students to a limit of 9. That's what happens when the teacher gets old, lol! Building GEMS again after 2-3 years of limiting health issues.

Fortunately, the trend is upward -- finally!

Thanks for following!

Coming up soon: Chapter by chapter history of A Teacher to You (now known as GEMStudio). No promises as to when each chapter will be published; just watch for it, I guess!

Tomorrow (Sunday, February 9) is the last of a 4-day Estate Sale of the house that was GEMStudio. The end of an era . . . but not in every way. GEMStudio is moving on Thursday to a new location in Ossineke -- one that will work better for me in light of 2024 and all of its shenanigans! ;-)

I am so thankful for the greatest community ever and your support and involvement in the music & academic education and tutoring at GEMS these 17 years, but also for sticking with me through the difficulties of 2024 . . . and for the tremendous turnout for the estate sale!

One more sale day: Sunday, Feb. 9 from noon until 6pm . . . although I might extend it through Monday while more packing is going on, to any who would like to come. There is still plenty of good stuff available!

There are a few in-person openings yet available, so please let me know if you'd like to register for the spring module in Ossineke. Yes, the studio IS coming with me a bit further north. :-)

Just popping in to say "Hi!" and that I haven't "disappeared!" There's been a lot of activity going on here at GEMS! Current students continue music & academic study while I prepare for changes in between their lessons.

A change of location -- which was uncertain for several months -- is now in motion and will take place in mid-February. Nothing has been (or will be) different for students until then; and, on the announced date, the only change will be the location for in-person students. Online (zoom) students will see no difference at all.

Moving day is February 13 (a Thursday with no lessons scheduled) and I am leaving that part to the professionals. All I have to do that day is drive my car (follow the truck!), open the door, and make sure everything gets put in the right place. Well, that is probably a bit over-simplified, lol! But I think it will SEEM that simple after these many weeks of decision-making, action-taking, "stuff"-eliminating, and packing as much as I can ahead of time myself.

After the move is done and settled, I will begin implementing the new ideas I referred to recently.

a partial list of new ideas . . . optional opportunities:

Specialty classes already under development
Some shorter (2-session) modules, covering specific topics
Optional local group activities -- at the studio or in the area
Video "bursts" of insight (music or academic; in-person or on-line)
More recital opportunities (optional and at various formality levels)
Small group community service activities (music at care homes?)

These are things I've had in mind for a long time and look forward to implementing after the move is complete.

I created this meme and posted it in mid-March 2024, in good faith that GEMStudio was ready to grow. The timing wasn't right though, and it couldn't happen. I'll just say this:

"2024 -- What a year it was!"

'Twas not what I expected or planned/worked toward at all; still, much good has come from it. It was meant to be. "It is/was what it is/was" anyway; and I'm okay with that.

But now . . .

Looking forward to mid-March 2025 when GEMStudio launches several new offerings: annual SPRING RECITALS, for one! Should be a lot of fun and a great kick-off for some changes, marking the close of winter module (which began this week) and the beginning of new spring things.

Watch for it -- kick-off recital either March 13 or March 20. Some pretty special things being planned for it already! Meanwhile, continue watching for other brand new opportunities for your academic & music involvement and success.

Looking forward to, along the way, being able to say:
"2025 -- What a year it was!"
. . this time, from a different perspective.

Announcements will be made as information is confirmed.
I hope you'll be on board!

* Teaching / tutoring / editing / curriculum development: founded, owned, and taught by Miss Linda with her 35+ years of successful experience.

* In-person for locals (Greenbush, NE Michigan)

* Face-to-face Zoom online for anyone, anywhere

* Preschool — College levels

* Helping students find the success they are looking for—
regardless of their learning styles or needs
