My Quail will probably never be my biggest income stream, but it is an income stream that I am pursuing. The Quail are small, easy to manage and offer really good meat, eggs and hatching eggs.

Enough is enough. It’s okay to want more. Or less. Or to completely redo your life in a way that aligns with who you are now.

Making a full-time income from a homestead usually takes more than one income stream. That’s why I’m creating an actual business plan—choosing what fits my property, setting clear goals, and staying focused on the bigger mission.

If I want my homestead to pay me like a full-time job, I have to start treating it like one. I’m not just building a homestead—I’m building a business that can eventually support my family. 🌱🐓

One of the ways I plan to make our homestead profitable is by raising and selling American Chinchilla meat rabbits. My long-term goal is to raise 1,000 kits per year, which could generate $30,000 in gross sales at $30 each.

There’s a lot to build—and a lot to learn—before I get there, but every successful homestead income stream has to start with a plan. Next step: building the rabbit barn! 🐇

Would you buy live meat rabbits from a local homestead?

How to save tomato seeds.
With everything I do, I am working towards a more self-sufficient lifestyle and saving seeds is one of the biggest things that I can do that is self-sufficient for my Homestead.
