My reply: carrion

Child asked: what is carrion

My reply: deceased/ dead animals

Wildlife is on the move. Migration has begun. Early morning with Officer Moore from Oshkosh Police Department.
This male great horned owl was struck by a car. Fortunately the bird was not too far up the tree. I was able to net the bird. Thank you Becky Metz for transporting the bird to Neenah Aves Wildlife Alliance. Unfortunately, the bird had a double fracture on right wing and fracture on left wing. It was decided humanely euthanasia 😕🙏
