Learning in Retirement at Evergreen

Yesterday, a group of Learning in Retirement members braved the rain and cold for a visit to Knigge Farms in Omro. This modern dairy operation made history by installing the first robotic milking system in the United States.

Participants enjoyed a guided tour showcasing the farm’s cutting-edge robotic milking process and automatic calf feeding technology.

On Saturday, March 21, some members of Learning in Retirement’s Garden Group attended the Winter Thaw Garden Symposium hosted by Master Gardener Association - Outagamie County.

From sessions on native plants, herbology, shade gardening, and peonies to browsing the vendor marketplace and connecting with fellow garden enthusiasts, the day offered something for everyone. It was a great seminar and a wonderful day of learning.

A group of Learning in Retirement members attended "Death by Design" at The Grand Oshkosh on Saturday, presented by the Oshkosh Community Players.

Those who went had great things to say, sharing that the show was hilarious and really well done.

Thank you to the Oshkosh Community Players for a wonderful afternoon of local theatre!

Edward Bennett said it best: "A life without theatre is a life not worth living."

The final curtain has set for "Death by Design". We are so grateful to our cast and crew for their hard work but also to all of you.

🍽️ Chef’s Choice: The Guns at Last Light 📚

This afternoon members enjoyed a delicious meal of lasagna and pecan pie before watching a pre-recorded talk by Pulitzer Prize–winning historian Rick Atkinson. He explored the final year of World War II in Western Europe in The Guns at Last Light, blending strategic insight with powerful personal stories from the front lines. A wonderful afternoon of great food and lifelong learning!
