Do you have or know a high school senior who resides in Winnebago County, WI and plans to attend a post-secondary educational institution?

If so, they are eligible to receive one of nine 2026 Winnebago County Board $2100 Scholarships.

This program was developed to promote an awareness and understanding of county government.

Interested students need to complete and submit an application form and write a 500 to 800 word essay addressing the question:
"If I were to run for any Winnebago County Elected Position,
which one would I run for and why?"

Supporting Paths to Purposeful Careers 🎓
Because of the generosity of Winneconne Thrift & Gift, the 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘦 𝘛𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘧𝘵 & 𝘎𝘪𝘧𝘵 𝘚𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘍𝘶𝘯𝘥 at the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation is opening doors for students pursuing the skilled trades.

Since the fund was established, 10 students from Neenah, Valley Christian, Oshkosh, Omro, Menasha, and Winneconne have received scholarships supporting futures built on talent, dedication, and hands-on skills. This scholarship removes common barriers by not requiring minimum GPAs or standardized test scores, recognizing that success looks different for every student.

“Students pursuing the trades often demonstrate valuable skills that can’t always be measured by a grade or exam,” shares Cindy Hendersen, president of Winneconne Gift & Thrift. “Our goal is to support students who need financial assistance to pursue careers that they are passionate about—careers that also provide a sustainable living.”

✨ For the Class of 2026:
• Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded
• Applicants must demonstrate financial need
• Graduating high school seniors in Winnebago County are eligible
• Applicants must plan to pursue a trade program at a Wisconsin technical school
