Today, on Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we invite our community to pause and acknowledge that we live, work, and gather on the ancestral lands of the Ho-Chunk and Menominee peoples.

We honor their enduring connection to this land and recognize the history of displacement and loss experienced by Indigenous communities.

As we reflect on our past, we also reaffirm our commitment to recognizing and uplifting Indigenous voices, perspectives, and leadership...not only as the original stewards of this land, but as vital members of our community whose knowledge, contributions, and experiences are essential to shaping our shared future!

We invite you to learn more about the indigenous communities of WI on PBS's website and stop by the Oshkosh Public Museum "People of the Waters" exhibit. We also challenge each of you to finding a way to connect and bring these voices and perspectives into our everyday work and life.

🤍💛 Wa'įniginapšąną/Waewaenen!❤️🖤

🤍💛❤️🖤Happy Indigenous People's Day!
