Titans are stronger and safer together 💛🖤
This weekend is not affiliated with UWO and may bring larger crowds, increased alcohol consumption, and potentially unsafe situations. This is not the norm but it's important to stay aware of your surroundings, avoid escalating conflicts, and leave any situation that feels unsafe.
🧐Plan ahead- Consider transportation arrangements in advance, stay hydrated and eat beforehand, and do not drive while impaired.
🤝Look out for others- Stay with people you trust. Get help from the appropriate emergency personnel if needed. (peep the medical amnesty policy)
🙅Do not escalate conflicts- Do not gather around, encourage, or escalate a conflict. Create distance, move to a safer location when you can.
📝Know the expectations- Everyone is responsible for complying with applicable law, City of Oshkosh ordinances, and for students, University policies that apply to their conduct. Unlawful behavior may result in law enforcement action or university consequences.
🏡Be a good neighbor- Respect other people's property and the surrounding neighborhoods
🚨Ask for help- If you believe someone needs medical or emergency assistance, call 911. If something appears unsafe or unlawful, move to a safer location and report the concern to authorities. (again, peep UWO's medical amnesty policy)
⚕Recognize the signs- Know the signs of dangerous signs & symptoms of overconsumption or overdose. Call 911 if emergency medical assistance is needed.
📲Stay Connected- Ensure your UWO emergency notifications are set-up and your phone is charged (consider having a portable charger). You can download the UW-Oshkosh mobile app for convenient access to campus information, resources, and updates such as mobile blue lights and safe walks.
