This Thanksgiving, we extend our gratitude to our graduate community and recognize the Indigenous peoples whose lands we inhabit. While many celebrate this day with loved ones, we also hold space for the histories of loss and resilience that shape it. Let’s commit to learning, listening, and giving thanks with awareness and respect. 🫂

🍂 Fall Break is Almost Here! 🍂
After evening classes wrap up on Tuesday, November 25, we hope you take time to rest, recharge, and reflect during the Thanksgiving/Fall break. You’ve worked hard this semester—now it’s time to pause and care for yourself. 💛
As we head into the holiday season, let’s also remember that not everyone has access to abundant food or supportive family connections. If you’re able, consider reaching out, sharing a meal, or connecting with campus and community resources that foster belonging and care.
Take it easy, recharge your spirit, and we’ll see you back ready to finish the semester strong! 🍁✨

🎓✨ Public Speaking Tips for Grad Students ✨🎓
With many preparing for end of the semester presentations, level them up with a few simple strategies:
🧐 Know your audience — Tailor your message to their interests and expertise.
🚫 Don’t compare yourself to others — Focus on your growth, not someone else’s style.
📝 Prepare, practice, and present — Confidence comes from repetition and readiness.
🗯️ Use positive body language — Stand tall, smile, and let your posture support your message.
👀 Know where to look — Engage the room with intentional eye contact.
Speak with clarity, confidence, and authenticity — you’ve got this! 🎤💡

📍 Campus Building Spotlight: Arts and Communications Center
Step into the vibrant creative heart of our campus — the Arts and Communications Center houses the offices and studios for communications, theatre, art, and music, including a stunning 500-seat Music Hall, a proscenium theatre, black-box experimental space, and the Allen J. Priebe Gallery.
UW Oshkosh Archives
But there's more: the building also connects to the rich archival work of the UW Oshkosh Archives & Area Research Center, which collects, preserves and provides access to historically significant records — from university yearbooks and newspapers to local history collections from Winnebago and surrounding counties. The UW Oshkosh Archives and Area Research Center is located on the 3rd floor of the Polk Library on the campus of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.
Whether you’re a grad student looking to express yourself, explore new media, perform, dive into research, or simply find inspiration between classes — this building is your canvas, your stage and your history-hub. 🎭🎶🖼️
