The garden at Clearview is providing us with an abundance of vegetables. The most productive, besides tomatoes, is zucchini! So, we all agreed that we're going to make Zucchini Bread! We did and it was DELICIOUS!!

This week we celebrated Alicia's birthday. Her grandson Tristan turned 9 years old and was born on her birthday!! His mom brought him to the Center to celebrate with his grandmother. We all enjoyed being a part of their special day! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALICIA & TRISTAN!! 🎈🎈🍪🍕

In the middle of May, we planted our seeds in the raised garden boxes and in the ground. Now, we are beginning to harvest some of "the fruits of our labor." We are having fresh vegetables for lunch, and learning how to can and bake, also. Nothing tastes better than a fresh tomato from the garden!!!

Yesterday we all had a special treat! One of our staff members, Jeremy, brought in his litter of miniature dachshund puppies. They are only 6 weeks old and oh SO adorable!! The clients enjoyed the visit immensely. A big thanks to Jeremy for sharing his PUPPY LOVE 🤎🤎🐾

Thanks to Gary from "Gary's Farm", the tomato plants that he donated for the clients to plant are doing well!!! We are all waiting anxiously to be able to use these tomatoes in our daily lunches!! Last week the clients also planted lettuce and radishes in our raised garden boxes.

The rain finally stopped long enough for us to plant some of our vegetables that the clients started from seeds several weeks ago. We are all excited to be expanding our gardening efforts this year. Since our daily lunch menu usually includes a salad, we will be enjoying our own homegrown produce! More planting to come!!

Some of the clients at the Center made use of scrap fabrics left over from the quilts they made last fall. They learned how to make "rag wreaths" using just the fabric and wire wreath forms. They got creative with their color choices and patterns. Good job ladies!!!

As mentioned in our previous post, here are some pictures of the crosses that the clients and staff made from Jenga blocks. This is a craft that we found on Pinterest and everyone enjoyed! Some were made for friends or family members. The three blue crosses hanging on the wall were made by Matt who wished to have them displayed at the Center. On to the next craft we go!!
