Training Spotlight: EVOC

This August, members of the Osakis Fire Department completed Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) training! This hands-on course focuses on safely and efficiently operating our heavy fire apparatus during emergency responses — covering everything from vehicle handling and braking distances to backing, turning, and maneuvering in tight or high-pressure situations.

We were also glad to have members of the Osakis First Responders join us for this training, reinforcing the strong partnership between our teams and our shared commitment to safety on every call.

A huge THANK YOU to F.I.R.E. (Fire Instruction & Rescue Education) for leading this training and sharing their expertise with our crew. Training like this helps ensure our firefighters can respond quickly and safely to keep our community protected.

💥🔥The Osakis Fire Department will be conducting a mock crash demonstration this Monday at the public access in town.💥🔥

This is a hands-on training exercise where our firefighters, along with other local first responders, will practice vehicle extrication techniques, scene management, and emergency medical response. You may see emergency vehicles, simulated injuries, and rescue tools in action.

When: Monday, May 12th @ 12:30 pm
Where: Public Access in Osakis
