🛻 This is the LAST WEEK to claim your spot in the next behind-the-wheel workshop!

August 28th is the deadline to enroll in the Part 2: OT Driver Rehabilitation Specialist Training workshop happening September 28-30th, 2026.

If you want a spot in the car, send me a message today!

Here’s why this is so important:

You must complete all of the online continuing education and receive the certificate of completion before we start the workshop.

There’s NO wiggle room here. The course completion certificate is computer-generated and must be time-stamped before the first day of the hands-on workshop.

But it’s more than just the logistics…

The information in the online modules helps you get more from the hands-on workshop.

The last thing I want you to do is binge-watch the videos and show up unprepared.

Your clients deserve better. YOU deserve better.

The hands-on training is intense. You’ll practice vehicle adaptations, use hand controls, be in the specialist (passenger) seat, take control of the car under mock emergencies, and more.

I promise you can do it as long as you work through the online course at a reasonable pace and absorb all the new information.

Adaptive Mobility Services has helped over 100 practitioners become OT Driver Rehabilitation Specialists. (There is still a HUGE need for specialists all over the country.)

Send me a message if you have questions or would like to set up a payment plan!

As OT practitioners, we value education and training that includes coursework AND fieldwork.

This combination is what we know and trust to equip us to enter this profession.

In the specialty area of driver rehab, where OTs learn to assess a driver’s abilities and train/retrain drivers using adaptive equipment, both coursework and hands-on training are still absolutely essential!

Adaptive Mobility offers the only OT-specific, 3-day, hands-on, workshop-based program to provide foundational knowledge and an “in-road” to this specialty practice area.

Our OT skills are so valuable in this specialty area!

Anyone using adaptive equipment for driving for the first time feels awkward and insecure.

By training in an actual car and on actual roads, I can guide the learning in a way that keeps everyone safe and builds best practices from the start.

There’s nothing quite like performing the *actual* occupation in the *actual* environment, right?!

The hands-on time during the Part 2 workshop allows you to try various equipment such as brake reaction timers, hand controls, left foot accelerators, cognitive tests, and more.

Adaptation options are extensive. The clients you serve as a specialist need an expert who has experienced each option before recommending what they need.

Are you ready to change lanes and become an OT Driver Rehabilitation Specialist?

The next workshop is in September, and there are just TWO seats left.

Send me a message if you’re interested!

Nobody likes driving when it’s like this, right?

Clients may plan to “only drive when it’s nice”... but weather is unpredictable.

They must be able to safely drive in wind, rain, snow, fog, and whatever else Mother Nature throws their way. (Or know their limits and be willing to call an Uber or a friend.)

This is why OT Driver Rehabilitation Specialists must assess if clients can safely drive in all kinds of weather.

During the Part 2: OT Driver Rehabilitation Training workshop, we discuss different scenarios, including inclement weather.

This helps OT practitioners enter the specialty practice area of driver rehab with confidence and competence.

If you’ve been curious about starting a private practice that includes driver rehab, or you’d like to bring a driver rehab program to your facility, I’d love to connect with you!

We have only TWO spots left for September’s behind-the-wheel training — and scholarships available.

If you were the OT Driver Rehab Specialist in the car with this client, what would cross your mind here?

Med B, mobile, or any OT practice owners serving adults…

Your clients already know and trust you.

They know you have their best interests in mind even when your advice isn’t what they want to hear. (Like when you tell them the towel bar is NOT actually a grab bar. 😉)

What if you expanded your services to include driving risk assessments?

✔️ Get a clear picture of their current risk to guide families and the care team.
✔️ Offer appropriate resources and referrals for their next steps.
✔️ Confidently practice full-scope OT, including addressing the IADL of driving!

Expanding your services helps keep your client safe and thriving in their home, AND when they head into their community. 🚘

Learning how to complete Driving Risk Assessments also helps you learn how many clients in your area could benefit from an OT Driver Rehab Specialist. Then you can decide if you enjoy addressing driving and want to specialize!

It all starts with learning to confidently complete Driving Risk Assessments.

Learn how by taking Adaptive Mobility Service’s Part 1: OT Driving Risk Assessment.

Have you added driving risk assessments to your practice, or would you consider specializing and offering driver rehabilitation services?

☀️ Three days.
🚙 Hours in the car driving and instructing. (Not the car in the photo!)
🎓 And a whole lot of learning.

Congrats to the newest graduates of the Part 2: OT Driver Rehabilitation Specialist Training!

They have the tools, the training, and the heart to enter the specialty practice area of driver rehabilitation and make a huge difference in your communities.

The road ahead is full of opportunity.

I can’t wait to see where it takes you! 🚙

Also, thank you for welcoming me to your country and your community during the past few days. 🇨🇦 It has been a JOY to bring this workshop to our northern neighbors.

After the workshop today, I got to enjoy the rest of the day at the Toronto Zoo!

(Yes, I can bring the behind-the-wheel workshop to YOUR community too! Send me a message if you're curious - we can work out the details.)

We had a lot of fun today, even in the rain! 🌧️ 🇨🇦

Day two of the Adaptive Mobility, Part 2: OT Driver Rehab Specialist Training workshop is wrapped up.

Today, we sharpened our DRS skills by exploring hand controls, the left foot accelerator, and spinner k***s. We used case studies to sharpen clinical reasoning skills and practice driver rehab training techniques.

All of the work we do prepares practitioners to be competent, confident Driver Rehab Specialists who can help clients with a variety of driver rehabilitation needs.

Seeing more fantastic OT practitioners start their journey as driver rehabilitation specialists, especially with this OT-specific pathway, is the best!

I can’t help but think about my own journey a few decades ago when I took the Take The Wheel training.

It thrills me to think about the adventure that lies ahead for each of these phenomenal OT Driver Rehabilitation Specialists.

I truly do believe that becoming an OT and working in this special area of practice is a calling.

It takes the right balance of objectivity, critical thinking, knowledge, compassion, and quite frankly, tenacity.

I am so proud of this group and all the amazing OTs before and after.

OTPs that address driving change lives!!

Keep going. You are making a big difference in the world.

If you’re interested in learning more or talking about setting your own goals with driving, I love connecting with OTs and talking about this.

No pressure, no obligation. Send me a message anytime.

Day 1 of the behind-the-wheel workshop is a wrap!

🇨🇦 I'm thrilled to be in Toronto, Canada, helping OTs address driving in the clinic and on the road.

The Adaptive Mobility Services Part 2: OT Driver Rehabilitation Specialist Training is my FAVORITE workshop to teach.

I LOVE working with energetic OT practitioners as they begin to make the connections between their OT foundational knowledge and driver rehabilitation. ❤️🚙

I love connecting with OTs from all over the WORLD and hearing what led them to this specialty practice area. It’s so exciting!!

Today we covered…
✔️ Position of readiness
✔️ Cueing from the instructor seat
✔️ Vision strategies
✔️ Physical interventions
✔️ Vehicle emergency management
✔️ Driving route planning
✔️ Comprehensive driving evaluations
✔️ The value of clinical assessments
✔️ The value of OT & driving
✔️ Non-equipment driving evaluations

The conversations with these awesome people were rich and productive.

I just love this hands-on workshop! 💙🚙

Send me a message if you’d like to join us for a future workshop and become an OT Driver Rehabilitation Specialist!

Canada, here I come! 🇨🇦

I’m headed up north to teach the Part 2: OT Driver Rehabilitation Specialist Training!

Although our laws and systems are different, applying OT frameworks and providing holistic, client-centered driver rehabilitation services to clients is largely the same.

This workshop is my absolute favorite to teach.

It’s hands-on, FUNctional, practical, and builds confidence and competence in every clinician who attends.

Reading books, watching videos, and having discussions are all valuable ways to learn…

But you’ll never feel confident (especially with something as complex as driver rehabilitation) until you actually get behind the wheel and do the thing!

That’s exactly why I built the Part 2: OT Driver Rehabilitation Specialist Training to include a hands-on component.

OTs generally show up knowledgeable but nervous.

They walk away from the workshop far more confident and capable — ready to enter this specialty practice area or serve their clients even better if they’re already in driver rehabilitation.

My next hands-on workshop is in the USA next month.

If driving has sparked your interest, I would LOVE to have you join us.

Send me a message for more information!

P.S. Did you know that Adaptive Mobility Services can provide the Part 2 OT Driver Rehab Specialist training where you live?! Book a call if you would like to discuss hosting a Part 2 geographic workshop. (The link is in the comments.) Sometimes, it’s more financially feasible for me to travel to your team than for your team to travel to me.
