I’m quitting henna.

This festival season has been the worst ever. Not by menial margins; by HALF. Taking averages, I am down about 50% of my sales this year.

I’m not going to speculate as to why, because I have eyes and I very much know why.

I mean, maybe I won’t quit.

I could have not shown up today, but integrity means something to me. Being my word means something. So, I’ll take this last festival day of the whole year, and sit under my pouring rain tent and do what I can, with what I have.

Like I said, it’s pouring rain here and I can’t display any of my products. I’m going to share them in hopes that some of you might feel a calling that these items were meant for you. I made them with love. Each photo has details in the caption. I also marked things down ALOT in hopes to not have to store them all winter.

I will ship items!

Sunflower festival is underway! I’ll be at Blake Farms right next to Funland for weekend one! I will NOT be attending weekend two of sunflower festival this year.

So if you want your annual henna, your once in a while henna treat, or your first henna ever, some see me today, tomorrow or Sunday ❤️🌈✨

Today was a great day!

It wasn’t my busiest. It’s been a tough season,
Frankly.

As I was leaving, I snapped this top photo, planning on posting about how the year has been hard.

Then I remembered how I had my rug get all ruined at lavender festival Friday, and I thought that was a hard day. Then just hours later, the whole festival blew apart, and all of a sudden a muddy rug became a walk in the park.

It could always be worse.

I made money doing art today. That’s literally some people’s dream come true.

I got to trade my art for some little presents for my girls. Swoon. 🥰

My car started. I got home safe. A literal miracle.

I had healthy food to eat. I got to talk to great people. I didn’t have to sit in traffic. My loving, devoted partner steaked my dahlias for me. The weather was such a nice temperature today.

A million things went right today.

Money is just one tiny part of our lives. It comes. It goes. There is so much to be grateful for if we choose to look for it 💖✨

It was a perfect evening for yoga in the flowers tonight at Barefoot Blossom Farm 🌼🧘🏼‍♀️

Starshine arts has always been so grateful for the opportunity to work with The Daisy Project. If anyone understands the kind of year it has been, it’s me. Life is really lifein’ for so many folks. My heart and prayers are with everyone who is running on empty.

Traditionally at this time of year, we would be bombarding your news feed with Early Bird Tickets, Amazing Artist Announcements, Encouraging your patronage at our Incredibly Generous Local Sponsors, Marketing all of the fun activities, vendors, artisans, and tasty food trucks you will experience at LO Palooza ~ All to benefit a special cause, The Daisy Project-MI, and our mission to enhance the lives of families with special needs by creating accessible and inclusive recreational spaces for all abilities.

You may have noticed the absence of these posts this year.

Many of our loyal supporters are aware that as a board, we at The Daisy Project, are no strangers to life's challenges. This year though, we have been called to refocus our attention and energy to the health and well-being of our families.

We have come to the difficult decision to not host LO Palooza in 2026. We know how very much this festival means to so many and want you to know that this decision wasn't taken lightly. We apologize for the late notice to those who were planning on closing out the summer with us once again come September.

We have always taken great pride in hosting LO Palooza and creating an affordable, all ages, well organized, music festival FUNdraiser with high caliber artistry and happy vibes galore. We do not want to risk the integrity of what we have built over the years by holding the event when our current bandwidth would not allow us to live up to the expectations.

This is not goodbye, but a "see ya later". We have come so far in the world of inclusion and accessibility, but there is still so much more to be done.

Thank you for your understanding, love, and ongoing support. In the meantime, we encourage you to keep supporting your local artists, businesses, and non-profits. ❤️🤘😘✌️
