Got the Independent for the week of January 10 today. Top of the 2nd page was a picture of a new popcorn popper for the junior class. 48 years later, concessions are still the junior class fundraiser. Wow! Some things don't change. I still remember Lori asking me a question about concessions. Foolishly, I said yes. I cleaned more floors that year than I care to remember. Being in band and stage band, I never got to sell (except to 6th grade Mike Lee when I was doing Monday inventory and he conveniently made a bathroom run each week from the temporaries!); I swept up. Working with Charlie Jones (night custodian) was the highlight of the experience. Colleen, they don't make 'em like your grampa anymore!

Edith Ruth Rice Churness Verdorn age 98 died July 31, 2021, at 2:10 pm at Guardian Angels By The Lake, Elk River, Minnesota. Joel & Deloris, Alene & Dale, Marlo & Julie and grandchildren had a farewell service with scripture readings, prayers, singing of hymns, and goodbyes with Mom on Thursday, July 30.

Visitation is Friday August 6 from 9:00-11:00 am with the Funeral Service at 11:00 am at

Leona says this is the "ABSOLUTE DEADLINE"!!!!! She needs bio's for the booklet, and the Vendor needs a "HEAD COUNT" for the "FOOD"!
For those "IF-ee's" I need to turn in head count to vendor by July 1! We need more to sign up for the "Escape Room"! It's a lot of fun, so please don't be shy! Don't forget about contributing to the fireworks.
For those of you who requested chicken, there may be another option as the vendor and grocery stores tell me that chickens are hard to come by. I am working with vendor and will get in touch with those who have requested chicken.
