What’s on my mind? Gratitude. Blessings. I was working on the Autumnal Equinox Potluck invitation for the nature school this morning, listing the activities, which include apple cider pressing. I don’t have a mobile cider press. I don’t have an apple source. But I have faith.
Suddenly, out of no where, a friend messages me and offers to buy the cider press I posted. I can use it for the celebration, then get it to her so she can try cider pressing—something she’s always wanted to do! It will be here tomorrow! I am so excited for the kids at my school! Thank you, Kate Cunha!!! What a blessing!
Next… who’s got an abundance of apples I can have for this experience?

WHHFS NEWS UPDATE: Tutoring Options

The new school year is here! I am excited to be a part of the Chavitos Nature Program again this year as a co-director and elementary math teacher.

In addition to teaching part time, I will also have evening tutoring sessions available. I am very successful with helping elementary students improve their reading and math skills and their self image as a capable learner.
I currently have a student I meet with for writing instruction twice a week. I would like to turn these sessions into a writing group session if there are more families interested in improving their student’s upper elementary and middle school writing.
Private sessions are $50 an hour. Group sessions would be $35 per student per hour.
I can provide instruction at the Buckley Library, Orting Library, or your home. I am relocating to Buckley this fall and may also provide sessions in my own home after I am settled in.

UPDATE: Zeus and Hades have a new home. Thank you Annette!!!
They are used to lots of handling by farm school kids. Both are about a year old. PM me if you’d like to adopt one. They come with their cages, water bottles, food dishes, and tunnels.
