Congratulations, Gregory Noel! Gregory passed the HiSET exam and now qualifies for financial aid at Shasta College!

Next week he starts a 10-month program to become a heavy equipment operator. Attending the program will require him to drive from Berry Creek to Redding every day for 10 months. Wow! That's dedication!

In order to prepare for the math portion of the HiSET, Gregory spent 2 1/2 months and up to 4 hours a day working on math assignments at Oroville Adult. Geometry, algebra, probability.... you name it, he did it.

Great job, Gregory!

Congratulations, Jayden McCabe! Jayden is Oroville Adult Education Center's latest graduate!

Jayden is planning on becoming an electrician by completing a five-year course through the Western Electrical Contractors Association in Sacramento.

Winter break is over, and we are back in session!

Student Spotlight: Thomas Haile

In 2023, Thomas Haile passed the HiSET at Oroville Adult. He immediately joined the Army to become a medic, and he scored the highest in his class on the NREMT final. Wow!

In 2024, his wife, Gabriella, earned a high school diploma from OAE. The entire family (including their baby) moved to Alaska shortly thereafter to start a new life!

Thomas is currently a combat medic stationed in Alaska "making sure our soldiers stay in the fight." According to Thomas, he takes pride in wearing this uniform because of the history behind it.

Life in Alaska sounds pretty exciting. A few days ago, for example, Thomas participated in a polar plunge. According to the internet, today's high will be seven degrees Fahrenheit. Brrrrrr

Congratulations, Marty Gouveia! Marty is Oroville Adult Education's latest grad!

Marty plans on continuing his career at QubicaAMF as a systems field trainer and will now manage his department with a new-found confidence. QubicaAMF is the world's largest and most innovative bowling equipment provider.

According to Marty, "It's been a pretty amazing grind, even though I'm a little late to the party!"
