A huge thank you to for hosting our students today! 🍚 It was a great experience to see your sustainable farming practices and learn more about how your operations run. Our students gained valuable insights into the rice industry, and of course, we loved sampling those delicious rice cakes! 😋

Congratulations to Butte College and Gridley High School student Joe Schohr. Joe earned the top spot at last week's National FFA Creed Speaking Leadership Development Event in Indianapolis.
"The FFA Creed talks about the morals and values of agriculturists, and I have been raised with those values my whole life. Being able to take those ideas and speak at the national level was a huge honor."

Congrats to students Macie Dentone and Brandon Gasper for receiving multiple scholarships at the scholarship reception! 📚💵
Macie received the Ag & Natural Resources, Gorrill Ranch, and Paradise Garden Club scholarships. Brandon received the Ag and Horticulture scholarship.
Meet Nick Esteve! His family owns Capex, an almond and walnut company that ships internationally! He was kind enough to give us a tour of the factory and share how the Butte College Ag Business Department has helped him towards reaching his goal. Nick loves how the classes for Butte College Ag is specifically targeted towards his interests as someone going into this department. We are excited to see where Capex will go in the future with Nick!
Meet Hannah Reis!
Hannah is a student here at Butte College and also works at Syngenta! We were grateful she let us see a small bit of what she does at her work. Hannah is set to do great things and is already on the path for success being a recipient of the Bell Family Presidential Scholarship! We wish her the best as she continues in her work and studies at Chico State!

Meet our student of the week, Tyler Friend!
Tyler's goal is to become an agricultural economist and hopes to find efficient ways to supply our country with the best agricultural system available!
On his free time he enjoys volunteering at church, going to the gym, and outdoor sports like hunting and fishing!
The Butte Ag Business Department has helped Tyler make lifelong friends, as well as give back through volunteering for events through the community.
We are glad Tyler was not only encouraged to pursue his goal, but also able to make lasting friendships through our department! We wish Tyler the best as he continues on his journey!

Meet our student of the week!
This is Arianne, she is a student here at Butte College and will be majoring in animal science. Her goal is to have a career that focuses on the nutrition of livestock. She loves spending her time in the outdoors whether it be fishing or playing softball! Our Ag Department at Butte has helped her feel more welcome at school with finding people of similar interests and career goals as her! Finding a place to belong in college can greatly increase the success rate in students, and we are glad Arianne has found community with us!
