Miss Lexi’s class had lots of Sensory fun today! Between Miss Lexi’s fabulous face painting and the class getting to clean all the chairs with shaving cream during water day; they had a fabulous day!
Today we focused on our sense of touch with a messy but fun shaving cream and paint activity!! We started out with just shaving cream then I added some different colors of paint that everyone was excited to mix in. I added some popsicle sticks, pool noodle slices, cupcake liners and cotton balls as some tactile objects for friends to experiment with. Friends discovered they could draw things with their fingers with the negative space of the painted table and started doing swirls, shapes, and a road that evolved into a town with houses and bushes.
Everyone did wear smocks but sometimes the fun is too much for the smocks and gets on their clothes anyways. We just used shaving cream and paint so hopefully anything that got on clothes will come out. Everyone had a lot of fun!!

“For today’s activity, we focused on taste!! 👅 we talked about some of the ways foods can taste then tried different sauces and foods and tried to figure out if it was sour 🍋 sweet 🍬 salty 🧂 or spicy 🌶️ or a combination of them. Everyone was very brave! I warned everyone about the spicy chip and friends still wanted to try it ❤️ We had the trash and water cups nearby for any foods that were too much. Some favorites were of course the chocolate sauce and surprisingly sweetened coconut flakes 🥥 we had a big M&M cookie treat and a bowl of popcorn 🍿 waiting for us after we got through the taste testing 😋.” - Miss Jessica’s class

“Today, we focused on our sight, looking at different snacks and identifying what we think they would taste like, our nose to see what they smell like, and of course our tongues to see what they taste like! Everyone had a lot of fun eating our project today!”
