Just a quick reminder that Promotion will be held tonight at Harrison Stadium. Students must arrive by 6:15 PM, and the ceremony will begin promptly at 7:00 PM.
Promotion practice will take place this morning. Students will leave Nelson at 8:45 AM and return at approximately 11:45 AM.

We understand that many families are making preparations for this evening's celebration; however, please refrain from picking up students before 12:00 PM so they can fully participate in practice and receive any final instructions.

🎉 Perfect Attendance Recognition! 🎉

On the left, you’ll see our incredible group of 20 students who earned Perfect Attendance for the entire 2025–2026 school year! These students were present for all 180 school days, with no absences, no tardies, and a commitment to showing up every day ready to learn. 📚⭐

On the right, we have three outstanding 8th graders who took that achievement to another level. Atticus, Richi, and Excel maintained perfect attendance for three consecutive school years, attending all 540 school days! 👏🏆

We are incredibly proud of these students and the dedication, perseverance, and responsibility they have demonstrated.

The W.E.B. students for the next school year have officially been selected and had an amazing time during orientation! 🐯🎉

W.E.B. (Where Everybody Belongs) leaders are so much more than students who help during incoming 6th-grade orientation; they represent our entire student body and truly embody what it means to be a Nelson Tiger.

These outstanding student leaders serve as positive role models who help younger students successfully transition into middle school. Throughout the year, WEB leaders will:

✨ Welcome and guide incoming students
✨ Lead team building games, campus tours, and fun activities
✨ Mentor students and support them academically and socially
✨ Promote kindness and help create a bully-free campus culture
✨ Organize school-wide events that make everyone feel included and connected

We are incredibly proud of these students for stepping into leadership roles and helping make Nelson a place where everybody belongs. 💙🧡

Today marked our final AR trip to the movie theater for the school year! Throughout the year, students had one opportunity each trimester to enjoy a movie and spend time with their peers after meeting their reading goals. We are proud to share that we had over 120 students attend each trip this year!

We love celebrating and rewarding students who choose to grow and strengthen their reading skills. Did you know that reading just 20 minutes a day can expose a student to nearly 2 million words per year? That daily reading helps expand vocabulary, improve comprehension, and build confidence in everyday conversations and learning. 🧠✨

As summer break approaches, we encourage all families to set aside a little reading time each day for their kiddos. Even a few minutes of reading a day can make a huge difference!
