Good morning TRIO scholars! We hope the new year is treating you well~ As the Butte College Scholarship is opening up soon, we are excited to bring back our annual scholarship 💰 workshop! This hybrid workshop will cover the application process and show ways you can advocate for yourself on the short essays and personal statement section. To sign up, use the link in our bio 🔗

The TRIO office will be closed between December 21st to January 1st ❄️ We will return on Tuesday, January 2nd. Yay to another semester done and we hope you all enjoy your much-needed break. Get some rest and see you all soon!

Feeling extra thankful as the holidays are coming up, so here’s a little appreciation post with photos from our fall events. Our program has been busy with so many fun events and activities. We are grateful for the amazing partnerships and collaborations we have made with other student services programs and centers. We appreciate all the folks who work alongside TRIO to help students with their journey here at Butte College. Lastly, we are thankful for our TRIO scholars! We enjoy the work that we do and that’s helping you students! So thank you!!! 💛🧡

November 8th is National First-Generation College Celebration Day 🎉 To celebrate the signing 📝 of the Higher Education Act of 1965 that helped create support programs like TRIO, we would like to invite everyone to join us for a watch party in SAS 281 on the 8th! We’ll be screening 🎥 A Million Miles Away, which is a biopic about Jose Hernandez, a TRIO and MESA alum 🎓, and his path from a farm worker to becoming an engineer and an astronaut! 🚀 ✨ Movie will begin at 12pm and food 🍝 will be provided! Hope to see you there!

📣 October is Disability Awareness Month and the campus has a lot of great events coming up next week! For our TRIO students, please note that attending the Ryan Niemiller talk will count as TWO TRIO-sponsored events for this semester! TRIO will be attending these events so we hope to see you all there! 😊

If you would like to participate, just drop by our office next Tuesday the 17th to pick up a pumpkin 🎃 and then drop it back off on Monday the 30th for a chance to get a nice prize 🏆 Swipe right 👉 to see our top contestants last year!

Good morning Roadrunners! We are pleased to finally announce one of our first college campus tours 🏫 for the school year is finally coming up! In partnership with and we are planning to attend Future Hornet Day at 🐝 Sacramento State 🐝 This event will be all day Friday, October 27th. Please be sure to sign up by October 13th. Space is limited and signing up does not guarantee you a spot. We will follow up with you to confirm your participation. *Please note, this event is for students in one of the three programs - TRIO, CASA, or Native American Center.
