Cooking at home can present some barriers, so we talked to our office floor about their thoughts!

[Video description: A person holding a whisk interviews two coworkers in an office setting about cooking barriers. They discuss challenges like having no dishwasher and a lack of time. To solve these, they suggest making one-pot meals and quick pasta dishes. The video ends with the host waving the whisk to make the shape of an apple and a small apple graphic appearing on screen.]

Providing younger generations with nutrition education and opportunity is always our goal 💙

A quote from a school teacher, "My students look forward to each nutrition lesson. The favorite aspect of the program is the opportunity to try out new foods which they have never tried. This is really the only healthy lesson that my students have the opportunity to participate in during the school year."

Here's what we've been up to the past few months... Planning content for you, filming fun, making informative videos, and enjoying great local coffee ☕️

POV your mom asked you to take the chicken out of the freezer to thaw but you forgot. Don’t panic, you can still start to safely thaw out the chicken before she gets home. Remember, never thaw chicken on the counter!

1. In cold water: Submerge sealed chicken in cold tap water, changing it every 30 minutes. This takes about 1 to 3 hours.
2. In the microwave: Fastest, but cook immediately. Place on a microwave-safe plate, use the defrost setting, and flip the chicken often.
3. In the fridge: Best for planning ahead. Place packaged chicken on a rimmed baking sheet or dish on the bottom shelf of your refrigerator. Takes 24+ hours.

[Video description: The video displays a smartphone screen showing a text message conversation with “Mom”. The mom asks to take the chicken out, the reply is “Yes,” and the mom follows up asking if it was done because she is on her way home. A cutout of a person in a suit is shown running and moving frantically across the screen while upbeat music plays.]
