☀️ It has been a busy summer here on the Orono campus!

A special thank you to our staff for the creative, caring ways they supported and engaged our students all summer long.

Here’s a glimpse at the tremendous impact Community Ed. made this summer:

🎨 More than 7,500 summer enrollments in 532 camps and classes. That’s an average of 600 enrollments each week!

🎒 120 incoming kindergartners completed “Ready, Set, Kindergarten” in preparation for this big change.

☀️ 55 students participated in Discovery Kids child care and 146 students in Spartan Kids child care throughout the summer.

We’re excited to welcome The Stand Ups and the Northland Community Schools Northland Eagles Drum and Dance Troupe to Art in the Park! 🎶

The Stand Ups are an 8-person cover band including horns, bringing live music to the park throughout the evening. The Northland Eagles Drum and Dance Troupe will also be joining us and sharing a special performance during the event!

Come enjoy an evening of live music, art, food, and community at Art in the Park on September 22 from 5-7 PM at Veterans Memorial Park! 🍂🎨

Qué Tal Language Program is bringing Spanish learning to Orono this fall!

This year, Spanish class is a treasure hunt! Students in grades K-5 will build Spanish language skills through hands-on activities, games, songs, cultural experiences, and a year-long adventure that makes learning fun and engaging.

Classes meet Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:10–8:55 a.m. at Orono Intermediate School and Schumann Elementary.

Art in the Park is coming up September 22! 🍂🎨

This event is for everyone: kids, teens, adults, families, friends, and neighbors of all ages. Spend the evening at Veterans Memorial Park enjoying live music, food trucks, and hands-on art activities designed for both kids and adults. Come get creative, grab a bite to eat, listen to the band, and enjoy a fall evening in the park!

Visit the Discovery Center Open House & Vehicle Fair on September 3 from 4:30-6 PM!

Open and free to all! The Discovery Center Open House & Vehicle Fair is happening on September 3 from 4:30-6 PM!

Tour the preschool classrooms, meet our teachers and staff, and explore vehicles from West Suburban Fire District and West Hennepin Public Safety.

Food will be available for purchase from Smokin Bonez, Al Chile Street Food and Lakes Ice Cream. We hope to see you there!
