International Writing Across the Curriculum Conference

Did you know that IWAC 2027 will have a virtual option?
We know that there are a lot of factors that impact whether or not someone can attend an in-person conference. IWAC 2027 will have a virtual option for both attendees and presenters. Our mobile app allows those who have registered to share their presentation recordings and materials for asynchronous engagement, as well as live links to synchronous conversations.
How does it work?

Each panel listed in the program will have a link to a folder that contains a video recording of their session, as well as any other materials they wish to share. That folder can be housed in your personal storage, or it can be provided by the conference.
Q&A can take place in the session space, as well, via the Comment feature.

Community Conversations will have live Zoom links for registrants to join in real time, but will not be recorded.

Colleagues, as we process the shuttering of CCCC and collaborate on a new, more inclusive organization, the IWAC 2027 organizers would like to extend an invite.

We know that IWAC may not be the right fit for all Standing Groups that receive guaranteed panels at CCCC (and we don’t yet know if C’27 is canceled). However, if your Group feels it is an appropriate fit, we are more than happy to guarantee your panel with us in July 2027.

Come for the conference, stay to meet the locals! We know that conferences can be overwhelming. IWAC has planned down-time for folx to network and plan, but also to step away to decompress. The DeMeritt Forest provides over 2,000 acre to roam, with walking and biking trails galore. Easy to take a 30 minute break, or a longer morning/evening wander. If you ran into issues yesterday creating an account, our sincere apologies! It has been fixed and folx new to the portal should have no issue creating an account. If you have proposed in the last 3 IWAC’s, you should use your existing account (passwords can be resent/reset).

In support of using writing to improve learning, the Pearce Center pursues many initiatives in writing across the curriculum and writing in the disciplines. Last summer, the Pearce Center put on the 2023 International Writing Across the Curriculum conference, bringing scholars from around the world to Clemson’s campus!
