Today is my birthday! 2026 has been a year of soul searching and changes so far.
I've made new friends and reunited with old flames. I've discovered bellydance that works with my physical disability 💃. I've written a lot but...not quite enough. I've researched family roots and reached out to loved ones, because every moment with a beloved friend or family member is a limited time gift.
And I've dedicated myself to finding the beauty in the Sonoran Desert. In the midst of the bleak and barren landscape, there are brightly colored flowers that burst into bloom unexpectedly upon the bland cactuses and shrubs. There are brilliantly adapted animals that can be found nowhere else on earth. There are sunrises and sunsets displaying colors beyond imagination...and at least one little desert cottontail bunny who watches them☀️🐇👀!
My goal for this next year around the sun (currently shining at about 115°F) is to start bringing more hidden treasures to the light of the world. What that means exactly...I'm still figuring out. But I'll let you know when I do!
