Welcome to Montessori Nature Works! I create beautiful activities inspired by the Montessori, Reggio-Emilia and Waldorf early childhood education philosophies.

I love using natural materials to provide thought provoking, imaginative and purposeful play invitations for children. Children learn through play and will learn in a variety of exploratory and creative ways using these beautiful materials. I am combining my love of these 3 philosophies, nature, early childhood education, and therapeutic play, to create these interactive, multi-sensory activities

I created open ended Haloween themed playdough sets to inspire children to build, create, imagine, and tell stories. Throughout all the play and fun this set will encourage fine motor development, language, social-emotional skills, early math concepts and more. Play dough "work" has a calming effect on the mind and nervous system of a child and can bring them very quickly into a state of calm. Let me know what you all think about these sets??

We are all cozy at home here in Ormond Beach Florida...getting ready for hurricane Irma! We have got lots of stuff to keep their little hands busy! I set kids up with a loose parts open ended play activity I created for them to explore and imagine. The materials are as follows: multi color Pom pom balls, hand painted shells, multi color silicone baking cups, small wooden spoons, clothes-pin, bamboo tongs, small woven basket, small nest, 2 small metal buckets and 2 large natural shells. During their play they became workers in an ice cream shop serving me dish after dish, they became salesmen on a seashore selling me jeweled shells, they picked Apple's from an Apple tree and counted them all, we built a rose with Sun shining above to name a few things. With this activity they were able to scoop, pour, transfer, imagine, create and explore on many different levels. This activity encompasses encourages and more 😁

Working on literacy and numeracy sets for the kiddos. I love these.... I am debating on whether or not to put them together in a drawstring bag or a small box.....what do you think?? SUGGESTIONS? what would you like to see that is not included in these sets?

How cute is this! A cardinal, bluebird, chipmunk, and squirrel all nestled in a burlap snap basket! This imaginative play set can be displayed on a shelf, a play corner, or set up as an invitation to inspire imaginative play! Children can create their own woodland fairytale stories! Imaginative/pretend play helps children develop language, social-emotional skills, self-esteem and confidence! These life like forest friends will instill a sense of fondness for animals and the natural world. This set would be great paired with play silks in which children could built little imaginary nests, burrows, and tree hollows for the animals to live. I could see children wrapping these little critters in playsilks and nurturing them like babies. Children might decide to run their very own animal shelter or become woodland friends themselves! The possibilities are endless! This will be available in the Montessori Nature Work Etsy shop soon. Shipping will be in a large flat rate box!
