We seldom think about it, but preparing for a checkride probably drives our pets nuts 😁

It’s not easy to go from not having a pilot’s license to earning that PPL. It takes a lot of work and a lot of belief in yourself. So naturally, once you’ve earned it, the temptation to fly fly fly is pretty real! ✈️🛩️🛫

In 1939, President Roosevelt declared August 19th as National Aviation Day. August 19th was selected because it is Orville Wright’s birthday. A lot had happened since the Wright Brothers first powered flight in the Wright Flyer in 1903, and a lot was still ahead of us. The difference in military aircraft between the two world wars, alone, showed major technological advancements in aviation. Yet, what is so striking about aviation is how simple the airplane really is. It relies on some very basic principles that make a 1976 Cherokee or Cessna every bit as useful and effective in flight in 2026 as the day it left the factory. Happy National Aviation Day to every pilot, mechanic, and aviation professional working today!! 1903 is, in relative terms, a short time ago- so make no mistake about it… you are all part of the early phase of human flight!! Congrats to you brave and daring souls who have not allowed the sky to be your limit ✈️ 🧑‍✈️ 👩‍✈️🛫 ✈️
