On Mondays at Sunrise School, we return to what is simple, steady, and true. 🌿
Children begin the morning in circle — with story, song, and movement that bring focus, rhythm, and joy to the day.
The morning unfolds through handwork, baking/cooking, herbalism, and purposeful work. Here, math is measured in cups of flour, science is learned in the turning of the soil, and imagination is well nourished!
Rooted Earth Mondays are all about creating a living, breathing learning experience — through rhythm, through wonder, through the beauty of Waldorf educational philosophy, through connection to the Earth and to one another. ❤️
This fall, we invite homeschooling families to give their children Mondays rooted in wonder, belonging, and joy!
📅 Mondays · 8:45 AM–12:00 PM

Enrollment is open for the Fall Session of Honeysuckle Garden! 🌿🍄
Honeysuckle Garden is a gentle, Waldorf-inspired morning class for children ages 0–4 and their caregivers.
We gather for songs, stories, art, and handwork, on our beautiful forest campus, with time for unhurried free play among the trees.
We share a beautiful tea time and wholesome snack in the fresh air, and parents enjoy meaningful conversations on Waldorf education and conscious parenting, all while weaving lasting community connections.
❤️ This is more than a class—it’s a sanctuary for slowing down, remembering what matters, and planting seeds of trust, joy, and belonging.
🌿 Our Fall Session is the first session of the year, and spaces are limited. Step into the woods with us and watch your child’s sense of wonder grow!

There is wisdom woven into
every leaf, every stone, every sound.
Our children don’t need more stimulation—
they need the space to notice.
This is how we teach.
This is how they remember. 🌲

⭐️ Teacher Spotlight!! ⭐️ Ms. Brittian: A Beloved Guide in Our Sunrise Community
If you’ve spent time at Sunrise, chances are you’ve already felt the gentle, grounding presence of Ms. Brittian. She has been walking alongside our students for the past year, quietly weaving her gifts into the fabric of our days. Today, we’re honored to formally introduce her and share more about the many ways she enriches our community!
Ms. Brittian brings a beautiful, multifaceted background to her role at Sunrise:
✨As a certified yoga instructor, she supports children in connecting breath, body, and spirit through mindful movement.
✨As the owner of a raw, organic bakery, she serves as our baking teacher—guiding students in crafting nourishing, whole foods and cultivating a conscious relationship with what we eat.
✨Her love of gardening infuses each day with reverence for the cycles of seed, soil, and sun.
✨As an experienced energy worker, she offers a calming, attuned presence—holding space for harmony in both seen and unseen ways.
✨Her deep connection with animals (especially her dog Nico!) invites children to recognize and honor the life in all beings.
✨With over a decade of teaching experience, she brings wisdom, consistency, and a nurturing structure to every learning moment.
In Ms. Brittian’s care, children are invited to move slowly, breathe deeply, and experience the world through wonder—whether they are baking, tending the garden, observing nature, or engaging in hands-on, imaginative, academic learning.
We are deeply grateful for all she brings to our school and feel so lucky to have her! ❤️ Drop an emoji or some words of encouragement in the comments for Ms. Brittian!!!

In a world that rushes from one moment to the next, we choose to pause—and mark time with reverence.
At Sunrise, we celebrate the turning of the seasons
to honor the natural rhythms that live beneath the noise of the world.
At Michaelmas, we gather our courage.
At Martinmas, we carry our light.
At winter’s heart, we spiral inward.
And at spring’s threshold, we welcome life returning.
May Faire is a celebration of renewal.
The maypole ribbons, the flower crowns, the barefoot dances—these are the children’s way of weaving beauty into the Earth, planting joy with their hands, and remembering that they, too, belong to the rhythms of nature.
And we all feel it—
in our bodies, in our breath,
in the sunlight on our shoulders,
as we dance the earth back into bloom. 🌺

What makes a Waldorf teacher different?
It’s not just about what we teach—it’s about how we live.
We believe the teacher’s inner work is inseparable from the child’s learning journey.
Are we cultivating patience, wonder, and kindness in ourselves?
Are we modeling a love for learning—not just through lessons, but through how we show up each day?
Because children don’t just learn from what we say-they learn from who we are.
This is the heart of Waldorf education. ❤️

🌿 Meet Ms. Karole! 🌿
Ms. Karole has been with us since the beginning of the school year and we are so grateful to have her as part of our Sunrise School family!
Born and raised in Brazil, Ms. Karole brings a rich and diverse background that beautifully complements our Waldorf-inspired approach.
Her journey in education began with a deep love for learning and community—something she nurtured through years of volunteering at a public library while raising her family in Montana. She later earned her Montessori 0-3 certification, which strengthened her understanding of child-led, hands-on education.
Although Waldorf and Montessori philosophies differ, Ms. Karole’s experience at the Montessori school paired with her love for nature, creativity, and rhythm, made her a natural fit for our school.
Ms. Karole is passionate about fostering a sense of wonder and creativity in children. She believes in empowering them as the protagonists of their own learning, guiding them with warmth, intention, and respect. Whether she’s introducing children to the joys of artistic expression, encouraging a sense of responsibility and gratitude, or simply sharing the beauty of the natural world, she embodies the heart of our school’s mission.
With her joyful spirit, artistic talent, and deep appreciation for the simple, meaningful moments of life, Ms. Karole is an inspiring presence in our community. We feel so lucky to have her guiding and nurturing our students!
Drop a warm welcome for Ms. Karole in the comments below! 💛
