🌿 SUNRISE IS LOOKING FOR A MONDAY TEACHER! 🌿

We are looking for a wonderful, experienced educator to join our Sunrise team one day per week.

Mondays | 8:30 AM–2:30 PM
$25–$35/hour, depending on experience and qualifications

This could be a beautiful fit for a former classroom teacher who is now home raising or homeschooling their own children, a retired or semi-retired teacher, or an educator who simply misses teaching but isn't looking to return to a five-day classroom.

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds a four-year degree
• Has professional classroom teaching experience
• Can confidently hold a group of elementary-aged children with warmth, strong boundaries, and consistency
• Is reliable, punctual, organized, and has a strong work ethic
• Is playful, curious, creative, and willing to learn new ways of teaching
• Genuinely loves being outdoors and is comfortable with Florida heat, rain, mud, bugs, frogs, and all the other wonderful realities of an outdoor school
• Values nature, creativity, meaningful relationships, personal growth, and a whole-child approach to education

Waldorf experience is not required. We are much more interested in finding an excellent teacher who is open-minded, eager to grow, and excited to learn how we do things at Sunrise!

This is an opportunity to use your gifts as an educator one beautiful day each week—without returning to the demands of a conventional full-time classroom.

If you're reading this thinking, Wait…this might be me, we'd love to hear from you!

Please send us a message or email your résumé and a brief introduction to Ms. Jenn at [email protected]

And Sunrise families and friends—please share! The right teacher may already be somewhere in our extended community. 🌿

There is something deeply satisfying about taking simple, whole ingredients and transforming them into something beautiful.

During the Mindful Morsels week of our Summer Session, children entered a world where storytelling, song, movement, art, and nourishing food became part of one living experience.

Together, they measured, stirred, chopped, tasted, created, and discovered that preparing food can be an act of care—for ourselves, for one another, and for the Earth.

In a world of convenience, we believe there is something profoundly valuable about children knowing how to create something nourishing and beautiful with their own two hands.

These are the quiet moments that build confidence, gratitude, creativity, and a lifelong relationship with real food.

At Sunrise, even making a simple snack becomes an opportunity to nourish the head, the heart, and the hands.

Nature’s invisible ink.

A blank page.

A little curiosity.

Then…wonder.

Our kindergarteners began by painting with a simple mixture of baking soda and water. Their favorite nature scenes remained hidden until a brush dipped in turmeric revealed what had been there all along. 🌿💫🌼

Moments like these remind us that some of the deepest learning begins with curiosity.

When children’s hands are busy creating, their minds are asking questions, making connections, and discovering that the world is full of surprises waiting to be uncovered.

At Sunrise, we believe wonder isn’t an extra.

It’s where learning begins.

Somewhere along the way, many of us were taught to believe that childhood is something to optimize.

Earlier reading.
Earlier achievement.
Earlier success.

But what if childhood was never meant to be rushed?

What if the years we so often see as preparation are actually the foundation for everything that follows?

A child who has been given time to wonder…

to belong…
to move…
to create…
to become deeply rooted in who they are…

is carrying something far greater than an early advantage.

They’re carrying a strong foundation.

At Sunrise, we believe childhood is not a race to the next milestone. It’s a sacred season of life that deserves to be lived fully, protected gently, and remembered fondly.

If this vision of childhood resonates with you, we’d love to welcome your family! 🌿💫🌺

We often wonder why children seem so dysregulated.

Then we ask them to spend their days sitting under florescent lights, disconnected from nature, movement, meaningful work, and real responsibility.

What if regulation isn’t something we teach…
but something we cultivate?

The environment is always teaching.

The question is…

What is it teaching our children?

Every day, our children are given opportunities to slow down, solve real problems, work with their hands, take healthy risks, and become deeply engaged with the world around them.

This is the work of childhood. 💫✨

Fridays are extra special at Sunrise. Our Honeysuckle Garden program invites our youngest children and their caregivers into the gentle rhythms of our beautiful wooded campus.

Together, we gather beneath the trees for open-ended play, seasonal songs, simple handcrafts, nourishing snacks shared around the table, and quiet moments of wonder in nature. Here, little ones are free to explore at their own pace while parents find connection, community, and space to grow alongside one another.

Friendships bloom. Confidence takes root. And a lifelong love of the natural world begins with muddy boots, joyful hearts, and the simple beauty of being together.

A sweet first step into the rhythms of a Waldorf-inspired childhood. Won’t you join us? 🌿✨

Friendship grows naturally here! 🌿

Our Kindergarteners spend their days gathering flowers, building fairy houses, baking bread, exploring the forest, sharing stories, and discovering the joy of learning side by side.

This is the kind of childhood we’re protecting at Sunrise!

We are welcoming new families for the fall! Come share in this journey!

The future needs children who love learning.

Not to fill their heads with more information…

But to cultivate curious, capable human beings who never stop wondering, creating, and growing.

At Sunrise, we believe the way children learn matters just as much as what they learn.

That’s why every Sunrise experience is thoughtfully rooted in Waldorf education, nature, meaningful work, and the healthy development of the whole child. We believe education should nourish not only the mind, but also the body, the heart, and the will through movement, gardening, storytelling, artistic work, time in nature, and experiences that cultivate resilience, self-awareness, and a genuine love of learning.

If this vision of education resonates with you, we’d love to welcome your family!

Stories, art, song, and play aren’t ‘extras;’ they are how children build the neural pathways for creativity, empathy, and problem-solving later in life.

At Sunrise, these living arts aren’t something we squeeze in around “real learning.” They ARE the real learning — nurturing imagination, presence, and purpose in every child.

☀️ We still have a few spaces available in Kindergarten and Grades 2–5 for families who feel called to join us!

If your heart is longing for a nature-based, Waldorf-inspired education rooted in wonder and joy, where childhood is fervently protected — this is your invitation. 💛
