Last week, Mt. Pleasant 1, 2, and 3 enjoyed a walking field trip to the local farmers’ market! During the tour, the children explored the many colors, smells, and textures of the market. They especially enjoyed picking out an apple to try and a pumpkin to take home with them!

A big thank you to all of our field trip volunteers and to the Rosebush Farm Market for welcoming us!

🧠 What does it mean to cross the midline? Crossing the midline is when a child uses one hand, foot, or side of their body to reach or move into the space on the opposite side of their body. For example, reaching across their body to pick up a toy or draw on the other side of the page. This skill supports coordination, body awareness, visual tracking, and using both sides of the body together.

Children use these skills during everyday activities like coloring, playing with blocks, throwing and catching, and getting dressed. If a child consistently avoids reaching across their body or frequently switches hands when reaching across the page, it may be worth paying attention to their development and discussing your observations with a pediatrician or other appropriate professional. 💛

Understanding these skills helps us recognize when a child may need additional support and find playful ways to practice without turning it into a chore.

The Infant Pantry is open on Tuesday from 10 am to 4 pm. If you did not submit your order form by noon today, it will not be filled until you arrive tomorrow. Mrs. Snow shared, "On Thursday, Edmore 2 Head Start's classroom enjoyed learning about Regie Rainbow's Island of Green. The children enjoyed listen to a story where Regie Rainbow visited the Island Green and enjoyed tasting a slice of kiwi. Regie learned when he ate a slice of Kiwi it gave his body strength and energy. The children also enjoyed answering the riddle and joined along in the Eat a Rainbow song. Lastly, the children enjoyed eating a healthy snack that including cucumbers and limes. Some of the children learned that when they tried a lime it was very sour!"
