Graphs can be hard to visualize especially in Pre Calculus when you have Sine, Tangent, Cosine, Cotangent, etc. So, the past few days, pre-cal students have made roller coasters using at least 3 different graphs. The have to have a successful roll from the top of the roller coaster to the end of their roller coaster. Lots of iterations involved in creating a successful roller coaster.
Testing day is tomorrow, then they get to do calculations using the coaster graphs they made. Such a fun way to see math in motion. 🎢🐾

8th grade STEM students were asked to Make Something the Moved. We looked at various motors, automata, and different gears and pully systems. The students then designed and created their own unique creations. They learned a lot about trial and error before they got to their finished products, but their creations were great and successful. 🐾🕹

The students in the Dawgs den have worked on so many different items and custom orders the past few weeks. From posters to decorate for sectional, to academic awards, FFA items, passes, window stickers, signs, hats, name tags, key chains, basketball buckets, and more. We are a busy space and we love it. ❤️ 🐾

If you can't travel to the Great Wall, then build wall segments and create your own model. 7th grade history students did just that. They were tasked with creating Great Wall models that had to attach to their neighbors projects. They had to think about measurements, scale, fortifications, and other details to make their projects unique. Each team also decorated their models with a different dynasty. It's a fun way to bring history to life.

8th grade science students have spent the last week understanding Taxonomy. They invented a new organism, named it, classified it, and made a trading card with a QR code to a virtual Habitat they created online. Their organisms were really creative and they learned a lot. Plus they had fun!! 🐾
