One of the busiest 2 weeks ended last week. First, I had finals for my two classes (one grad and one undergrad). I was so happy to teach an undergrad course after years of grad teaching, missed that interaction. Then we had President and Chief Executive of the Institution of Structural Engineers here at UCF , then ASCE Structures Congress where I was in local organizing committee, along with presentations and moderating. Then we at CITRS had the pleasure of having Prof. Ian Smith from from Switzerland. Finally, we attended the SMART Conference (on , enabling , tourism) , and our paper received the Best Paper Award. Nice ending of two week marathon...

CITRS researchers Enes Karaaslan and Dr. Shuhei Hiasa attended the 11th International Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring on September 12-14, 2017 at Stanford University. They were delayed one day because of the airport closing and flight cancellations due to Hurricane Irma. Enes made a presentation entitled "Long Term Structural Displacement Monitoring using Image Sequences and Spatio-temporal Context Learning" and received much attention. Also, Shuhei and Enes updated attendees about the recent CITRS activities.
