We started 2026 seagrass restoration in Mosquito Lagoon today - a bit stressful with a dead boat, thunder, turbid water, and lots of folks new to this process...but we made good progress and will have Maddie's MS thesis research deployed by the end of the week! Her research involves understanding the impact of co-locating bivalve and seagrass restoration for possible enhanced ecosystem services. Funded by DEP/Sea Grant and NOAA/IRLNEP restoration, we are partnering with Brevard Zoo on this important effort. The beautiful seagrass in the photos was generously provided by the Zoo.

Hi folks, We need more of our non-plastic, biodegradable oyster restoration rings to deploy this summer, so we will be hosting 2 workshops on UCF main campus to make more. Dates are July 2 and 3 and the time each day is 8 AM -11 AM. Must be 18+ to participate. The work is both messy and fun. Please contact Linda Walters ([email protected]) to participate and receive a UCF waiver if you are new to volunteering on this project. Thanks!
