How many times a week should one practice yoga?”
The Answer: 7 days a week
Hear me out! If you only view yoga as the physical poses (asanas) we do on the mat, practicing 7 days a week sounds exhausting. But yoga is so much more than a workout.
True yoga is about connecting mind, body, and spirit. It is how you breathe through a stressful moment, how you show up with kindness for yourself, and how you find stillness in a busy world. The mat is just where we practice for real life.
When you look at it that way, yoga isn’t just a dynamic workout session—it is a daily way of living.

We often look for happiness in external achievements, objects, or the approval of others. But true, lasting peace isn’t something you find “out there”—it’s something you cultivate “in here.” By turning your attention inward through your practice, you discover that the calm you’ve been searching for has been with you all along. Stop seeking and start listening.
Quick Benefits
Reduces dependency on external validation.
Creates a stable emotional foundation.
Encourages mindful self-reflection.
Strengthens the internal quiet mind.

Finding our Friday pause. There is something incredibly powerful about gathering together, lowering our gaze, and letting the weight of the week melt away.
Using blocks under the elbows in this Child’s Pose variation creates space in the upper back and shoulders, allowing the heart to soften toward the mat. It’s the perfect reminder that sometimes, the most productive thing you can do is completely surrender to the present moment.

Let’s talk about Half Moon Pose, or Ardha Chandrasana. I know this beautiful shape can feel a little intimidating or like a giant balancing act when we’re practicing together. But yoga isn’t about rushing into the final shape—it’s about the sweet little steps we take to get there. Today, I wanted to break down exactly how I transition into this pose using a block for support, and even share a fun little variation at the end if you’re feeling adventurous. Swipe through to walk through the alignment with me, and remember to move with absolute patience and a soft breath. Your mat is a place to explore, not to be perfect!
Strengthens ankles and legs.
Improves core stability beautifully.
Opens chest and shoulders.
Save this post to reference during your next home practice, and drop a 🌙 in the comments if this breakdown helps you feel a bit more confident on your mat!

Finding your center in the wobble can be a challenge, but that’s where the magic happens! Half moon pose builds incredible stability while helping you find your focus. I’ve been practicing this one a lot lately to stay grounded during busy weeks. Which pose are you working on right now? Let me know in the comments!

We all do it: the head slump, the ‘phone neck,’ the tension shoulders (when did my shoulders become earrings?!).
This is your friendly reminder that bad posture doesn’t just affect how you look, it affects how you feel.
A little awareness goes a long way. Whether it’s a tap on the shoulder from a loved one or a mental check-in, coming back to your center is a daily practice.
Let’s carry that “ears to shoulders” length with us through the rest of the week. You deserve to feel light, aligned, and open.

Bridge pose is a staple in almost every yoga flow, but are you getting the most out of it? Whether you’re looking to strengthen your glutes, open your heart, or find a moment of restorative peace, how you set your foundation makes all the difference.

Swipe left to see ways we’re playing with Bridge this week at The Urban Ashram:

The Classic: Finding that steady, grounded lift.

The Engagement: Using a block to fire up the inner thighs and stabilize the pelvis.

The Opener: Binding the hands to find more space across the chest and shoulders.

If you’ve ever felt “stuck” in your bridge or want to know exactly where that block should go for maximum benefit, I’ve got you covered!

Which version is your favorite? Classic & Steady, with blocks or hands bound for the deep opening? Let me know in the comments!
