What makes NJS Coaching unique isn’t just expertise — it’s the shared belief that coaching is about people first.

Nate, Joe, and Scott have spent years side by side in MLB clubhouses, training rooms, and dugouts — refining what it means to develop athletes the right way. Their combined knowledge now fuels NJS Coaching’s holistic approach: where movement, mindset, and nutrition come together to help every athlete perform at their highest level, for the long haul. Together, they are NJS Coaching — a team of professionals committed to building better athletes, and even better people.

I had the privilege of joining the No Show Dogs Podcast with ReliaQuest Director of Mental Performance, Derin McMains, to talk about the mindset side of performance — an area just as important as strength, skill, or stats.

One line stuck with me:
“I can’t just be the guy that identifies the problem and doesn’t have a solution. That’s just complaining.”

Awareness is a start, but growth happens when insight turns into action. Whether you’re an athlete, coach, or leader, challenges are guaranteed. What separates high performers is the willingness to take ownership and build solutions.

Being accountable and proactive isn’t always easy, but that’s where progress happens — and where trust is built.

Don’t just point out problems. Create solutions. That’s how leaders are made.

From all of us at NJS Coaching, we want to wish you and your family a very Happy Holidays! 🎄✨

This time of year is about gratitude, reflection, and celebration — and we have so much to be thankful for. Watching the athletes we work with grow, push themselves, and commit to doing things the right way never gets old. It’s not just about skills or stats — it’s about seeing dedication, teamwork, and character develop on and off the field.

To the parents, coaches, and families who support this journey: thank you. Your encouragement and trust make everything we do possible.

Take this time to enjoy the little moments, recharge, and reflect on the hard work you’ve put in this year. And know that we’re excited to keep helping athletes grow, improve, and reach their full potential in the year ahead.

From our NJS family to yours, happy holidays — and here’s to another year of growth, effort, and doing things the right way. ⚾️💪 — Coach Nate Shaw & the NJS Coaching Team

Speed changes games — but only when it’s trained with purpose.
Our Sprinting Video Analysis + 8-Week Program gives athletes exactly that: a clear, detailed breakdown of their mechanics and a structured plan designed to improve real, game-day speed.

We look at how your athlete moves, where they’re losing time, and what needs to change — then we build an 8-week roadmap to fix it. No fluff. No wasted reps. Just intentional work that actually builds faster athletes.

If speed is a priority, this is the place to start.

I recently sat down with Zach Brandon, Head of Mental Performance and Coach Development with the Arizona Diamondbacks, on The Threshold Lab, and one story really stood out:

"I don’t care, I just wanna be part of something bigger and more special… And to do that, you have to get over your fears. That’s commitment. Are you committed to losing weight in January, or are you committed to saving a life if your kid’s trapped in a burning building? That’s what commitment really looks like."

Commitment isn’t about comfort or convenience — it’s about facing fear, doing the hard work, and dedicating yourself to something bigger than yourself. Whether it’s training, leading a team, or chasing personal goals, true impact comes from showing up fully, even when it’s hard.

Ask yourself: What am I truly committed to? That’s the difference between settling and achieving — between average and extraordinary.

Getting back on the field shouldn’t be guesswork. The Return to Play Rehab Progression brings structure, clarity, and confidence to a process that’s often rushed or misunderstood.

Built from years of experience at the highest levels of baseball, it shows how to rebuild capacity, progress intensity, and reintroduce sport-specific demands the right way — reducing setbacks and supporting a sustainable return to competition.

Whether you’re rehabbing, coaching, or managing an athlete’s comeback, this is more than a resource — it’s a proven roadmap. Finish the year stronger than you started.
