Our district-wide summer reading challenge is underway through Beanstack! All students and employees are automatically enrolled, so start logging those reading minutes and join the fun.

Need a great summer read? Students have 24/7 access to e-books and audiobooks through Sora. Simply log in through LaunchPad or download the Sora app on your mobile device.

🌞 Summer at Your OCLS Library
We’re excited to partner with the Orange County Library System for their “Summer at Your Library” program running June 1 – July 26.

Program highlights include:

Kids and teens who complete 30 days of reading can earn a FREE book and goody bag (while supplies last).

Full STEAM ahead! Laptops and iPads may have been turned in but that doesn’t mean learning has stopped!!
In ART with Ms. Scarbrough, students have been practicing cooperation, teamwork, respect, patience and resiliency while creating domino art! By studying domino artist Lily Hevesh, students have not only completed ART that is all STEAM, but have also learned from her that the right mindset is key to being successful!

We wish everyone a safe, fun, and restful Memorial Day weekend
as we take time to honor and remember those who have served.
We look forward to seeing all students next week for our final two days of school! As a reminder, no backpacks should be brought to school during these last days. Thank you for your continued support, and have a wonderful holiday weekend!

A lot of celebrating has been going on! Our students recently celebrated their PM3 accomplishments with a glow pizza party and plenty of fun. 🎉✨ Students enjoyed dancing, balloons, and time with friends as we recognized all their hard work this year. We are so proud of them!

Kudos to MetroWest's Marvelous Mentors. We appreciate Ms. Falcon and Ms. McRae for their guidance and support to our new and beginning teachers. Special thanks to the OCPS Recruitment and Evaluation team for helping us recognize this contribution to our school community.

We are so grateful for our amazing SLP here at MetroWest, Ms. Wilson!
Her dedication, patience, and compassion help our Orcas find their voices, build confidence, and strengthen communication skills every single day. 🌊🐳

Speech-language pathologists play such an important role in helping students succeed both socially and academically. The attached resources share more about the incredible work SLPs do and the impact speech therapy has on learning and communication skills.
