What this Chief said really hit home with me.

My job is to provide my students, staff, and our community with facts, data, and transparency. The reality is that even when the facts are presented, not everyone wants to accept them. Opinions, emotions, convenience, and personal interests often outweigh the data.

At FRTG, we hold ourselves to an extremely high standard because we understand what’s at stake. We know our performance is closely watched, and we embrace that accountability. We refuse to lower our expectations simply to make things easier or improve numbers.

Every week I receive calls from firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics looking for help after struggling in another program or preparing for the National Registry. Whenever possible, we do our best to help because that’s who we are. But the reality is that our first responsibility will always be to the students who have committed to FRTG, trusted our process, and invested their time, effort, and resources into our programs. They deserve our full attention and support.

Unlike many institutions, FRTG isn’t sustained by tax dollars or government funding. We exist because of the commitment of our team, the trust of our students, and the support of our community. Every resource we have is earned, and we take that responsibility seriously.

Success isn’t built by lowering the standard—it is built by meeting it.

We will never compromise our expectations for convenience or popularity. We will continue to challenge our students, support those willing to put in the work, and produce competent public safety professionals who are prepared to serve their communities.

Public safety education is too important to take lightly. Lives depend on it.

TRUST THE PROCESS.

PSA:

“FULL SCHOLARSHIP FOR EMT AND FIRE SCHOOL!” For our NOVEMBER CLASS.”

As many of you know, at FRTG we are always looking for ways to give back to our community and help develop the next generation of first responders.

Today, we are proud to announce the FRTG Sponsorship Program, where we will be awarding two full scholarships for our November 2026 EMT and Fire Academy Program. These scholarships will cover 100% of tuition costs, giving two deserving individuals the opportunity to begin a career in Fire and EMS.

These scholarships will be awarded in honor of two men who made a tremendous impact on the fire service:

🔥 The Bill Manning Scholarship
🔥 The Richard Stilp Scholarship

Both of these individuals dedicated their lives to serving others and advancing the fire service. Their leadership, mentorship, and commitment to excellence have left a lasting legacy, and we are honored to carry their names forward through this program.

If you believe you have what it takes to become a firefighter and EMT, we encourage you to apply. Follow the directions on the flyer and submit:

✅ A letter explaining why you feel you deserve this scholarship
✅ Three letters of reference

Applications must be emailed to [email protected] no later than September 1, 2026, at 5:00 PM.

This is more than a scholarship it is an opportunity to serve your community, change your future, and honor the legacy of two great men.

Best of luck to all applicants.

FRTG has been actively speaking with Fire Chiefs and public safety leaders about how we can better assist with their new hire and training needs.

As counties and cities prepare for potential property tax revenue reductions, many departments may be forced to restructure, reassign personnel, and find more cost-effective ways to meet operational demands. In some cases, this may mean outsourcing more educational needs so departments can keep more personnel in the field serving their communities.

At FRTG, we are preparing to add more course schedules and increased flexibility while staying committed to one standard: quality over quantity.

Our goal is simple support our fire departments, help reduce training burdens, and allow agencies to focus on what matters most: protecting and serving their communities.

We will continue to do everything we can to assist our public safety partners with their needs.

FRTG PSA:

FRTG has officially updated our uniform standards. EMT students will now wear blue, while red will remain designated for our Paramedic program.

We have also added back lettering to our polos to enhance professionalism and program identity. Moving forward, class t-shirts will no longer be included in tuition. Instead, students will receive an additional polo.

This change is intentional—by eliminating t-shirts, we are reinforcing that the polo is the required uniform for clinicals, ensuring consistency, professionalism, and accountability across all programs.
