Halloween Horror Nights puppeteers posted! Submissions due May 31st! Two pieces of advice:

1) submit EARLY. It makes a difference, don’t wait until the deadline!

2) if you want to be considered for the event outside of puppetry, also submit a scareactor audition or any other skill set you may have.

Our Owner and Director, Mary Boatman, is a top 5 finalist in the UCF Knights in Focus competition for her research on puppetry training! This research is how Puppet L.I.F.E. was created! Attention Central Florida puppeteers!!!

Audition notice for Olaf and Sven in a local production of Frozen!

Finally they’re opening up the gates…to auditions! Encore Performing Arts is currently accepting auditions for Principal, Ensemble, and Puppeteer roles for our upcoming production of Disney’s Frozen.

Audition Requirements:

Principal/Ensemble Roles: Prepare 32-bars (1 minute) of a musical theatre selection suitable for the show.

Puppeteer Roles:
For Sven: Seeking candidates with previous full-body puppeteering experience, please perform a minute of a verse and chorus of a puppet “performing a song.” No actual vocals required. If available, please also upload a puppetry demo reel.

For Olaf: Please include a puppet of any kind performing with you in your initial 32-bar cut submission. If available, please also upload a puppetry demo reel.

Virtual Audition Submissions:
Now - Saturday, February 28, 2026 @ 11:59pm ET

To be considered for a Principal, Ensemble, or Puppeteer role for Encore's production of Disney's Frozen, you must be 18+ years of age.

Principal/Ensemble Callbacks:
March 13-14, 2026

Puppeteer Callbacks:
Callback dates for Puppeteer roles are still being finalized. Puppeteer candidates who are selected to move forward in the audition process will be notified as soon as possible once a callback date is confirmed.

We will be auditioning non-equity performers for this production. No late submissions will be accepted, and no alternative callback dates will be provided.

Encore Performing Arts prioritizes diverse and intentional casting and we encourage applicants to explore non-traditional roles. We encourage performers of all ethnicities, abilities, gender identities/expressions, and all body types to audition.

Rehearsals will begin the last week of May/beginning of June.
