✂️ Why Are Scissors Important for Toddlers?

Scissor practice might look like simple cutting, but it’s actually building BIG skills for little learners!

When toddlers use scissors, they are developing:

🖐️ Fine Motor Skills – Strengthening the small muscles in their hands and fingers needed for writing and daily tasks.

👀 Hand-Eye Coordination – Learning to control their hands while following a line or shape with their eyes.

🧠 Focus & Patience – Cutting requires concentration, helping children practice slowing down and completing a task.

✏️ Pre-Writing Skills – The same muscles used for cutting help prepare little hands for holding pencils and writing.

🎨 Creativity – Cutting paper for art projects encourages imagination and confidence in their work.

At our school, we know that even the smallest activities help build the foundation for lifelong learning. 💛
