๐ OSS Middle High Earns an โAโ for the 16th Consecutive Year!
We are proud to announce that Orlando Science Middle High Charter School has once again earned an โAโ school grade from the Florida Department of Education for the 2025โ2026 school yearโmarking 16 straight years of excellence!
Orlando Science Middle High was also named a Florida School of Excellence for the 8th consecutive year, ranking in the 95.3rd percentile statewide. With 910 out of 1,100 points, our school placed in the Top 5% of Florida combination schools and the Top 3% of all public schools statewide.

๐ OSS Student Earns 4th Place at FBLA Middle Level National Leadership Conference! ๐
We are thrilled to share exciting news from our Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) program! After qualifying at the Florida FBLA State Leadership Conference this spring, Mohammed M. traveled to San Antonio, Texas, to compete at the FBLA Middle School National Leadership Conference, proudly representing Orlando Science Lynx Campus and the state of Florida.
Mohammed competed in Exploring Accounting & Finance, a challenging event that tests studentsโ knowledge of accounting principles, financial literacy, and real-world financial decision-making. Against some of the nationโs most talented middle school students, Mohammed delivered an outstanding performanceโearning ๐ 4th Place in the Nation!
FBLA provides students with valuable opportunities to develop leadership skills, business knowledge, and career readiness. Mohammedโs success highlights the strength of our FBLA program and the determination of our students to pursue their goals.
We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Ms. Mercado, our FBLA Club Advisor, for her outstanding leadership and support. Her dedication to mentoring and preparing students plays a vital role in their success.

๐๐ฅ A Slam Dunk Week at Summer Basketball Camp! ๐ฅ๐
What an amazing week it was at the Orlando Science Middle School Summer Basketball Camp! Our student-athletes spent one week developing their basketball fundamentals, strengthening teamwork skills, and enjoying friendly competition in a fun, positive, and energetic environment.
Each day was packed with exciting activities, including dynamic warm-ups, ball-handling drills, skill stations focused on shooting, passing, finishing, and defense, as well as live-action games ranging from 1v1 to 4v4 competition. Campers also put their skills to the test during free throw and 3-point contests before finishing the day with exciting full-court scrimmages!
A special thank you to Coach Martinez for organizing and leading such an outstanding program. His enthusiasm and commitment created an environment where students could build confidence, improve their skills, and most importantly, have fun.
We would also like to thank all of our campers for their hard work, sportsmanship, and positive attitudes. You made this week a tremendous success!

Being named Valedictorian represents the highest academic achievement in a graduating class and reflects years of hard work and intellectual curiosity. Keisha K. has demonstrated excellence throughout her academic journey and delivered a graduation speech filled with poise, inspiration, and heartfelt reflection that will be remembered for years to come.
The honor of Salutatorian is equally significant, recognizing the second-highest academic standing in the class. Shiv K. has shown remarkable resilience and leadership throughout the years. We are incredibly proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of our Orlando Science Middle School Science Olympiad Team at the 2026 Science Olympiad National Tournament! ๐
Representing our school and the state of Florida, our students competed at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles alongside more than 2,000 of the top middle school students in the nation. Our team achieved the highest overall score among teams representing our state. ๐
Against this elite field, our Orcas delivered an exceptional performance, earning 28th place in the nationโan impressive achievement that places them among the top middle school science teams in the country!

๐๐ Celebrating Hardit T. at the 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee ๐๐
We are incredibly proud to recognize Hardit T., 7th-grade student at Orlando Science Middle School, for his outstanding performance at the 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. ๐บ๐ธ
Competing against the nationโs top young spellers, Hardit demonstrated exceptional dedication and academic excellence. He advanced through the early rounds with confidenceโcorrectly spelling โtaalโ and accurately defining โcitation,โ showcasing not only his spelling ability but also his strong vocabulary skills.
Hardit met the rigorous competition benchmark and continued through multiple challenging rounds before concluding his journey in Round 4. He earned an impressive tie for 79th place in the nation, a remarkable achievement among hundreds of elite competitors! ๐
Hardit has represented our school with true Orca Pride, and his success is an inspiration to all students.

We are proud to celebrate Sahini K. for her incredible artistic achievement at the county level! ๐
Sahini was recently honored by Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings after earning 2nd Place in the Orange County Asian-Inspired Art Contest (OCAC). This prestigious competition highlights student artwork inspired by Asian culture and heritage as part of Orange Countyโs Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month celebration.
The award ceremony took place on May 26, 2026, at the Mayorโs Office, where Sahini was formally recognized for her creativity, talent, and dedication.

Orlando Science Schools is proud to celebrate our outstanding Science Olympiad students, who were recently featured on FOX 35 Orlando as they prepared to compete on the national stage! ๐
During their television appearance, our talented 7th and 8th graders showcased an impressive collection of advanced, college-level STEM projects, highlighting both their innovation and technical skills. Featured projects included a fully functioning hovercraft and a helicopter design, demonstrating their creativity, engineering knowledge, and dedication. ๐
