🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day from Innovation Station Kits! 💡

Today, we celebrate the hard work, creativity, and determination that help move our world forward—and we believe that preparing the next generation starts now.

At Innovation Station, we’re helping kids build the skills they’ll need for the future through hands-on invention, problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking. 🧠✨

Because today’s curious kids are tomorrow’s inventors, entrepreneurs, engineers, designers, and changemakers.

Here’s to celebrating hard work—and inspiring the next generation to create what comes next! 🚀

💡 Who gets to be an inventor?

This week on Generations of Genius, I’m chatting with Madeline Stoddard, founder of Inventhers™, about changing the story for women in invention.

Only 13% of patent holders are women — and Madeline is on a mission to change that. 👏

We’re talking invention, education, representation, and inspiring the next generation to see themselves as creators.

💡 Why teach invention education? Because we’re not just teaching kids how to invent—we’re helping them become confident, creative problem-solvers.

Here are 5 reasons to bring invention education into your classroom or program:

1️⃣ Encourages creative thinking — Kids learn to look at challenges from new perspectives.
2️⃣ Builds problem-solving skills — They learn how to identify problems and create solutions.
3️⃣ Supports other subjects — Invention naturally connects to STEM, literacy, communication, entrepreneurship, and more!
4️⃣ Teaches them to fail forward — Kids learn that mistakes aren’t failures—they’re part of the process.
5️⃣ Creates independent thinkers — Most importantly, kids learn to trust their ideas and believe they can make a difference.

🚀 And you don’t have to build your invention education program from scratch!

Innovation Station Kits gives you the tools, activities, materials, and guidance to help kids ages 5-12 go from problem → idea → invention → pitch.

And just like that… it’s time to head back to school! 🎒✏️

Bella, Toby, and everyone at Innovation Station are wishing all of our students, teachers, and families an AMAZING start to the new school year! 💛

Here’s to a year filled with new friends, new ideas, new challenges, and plenty of “What if?” moments. 💡

Remember: you don’t have to have all the answers — be curious, ask questions, try new things, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes along the way. That’s how we learn, grow, and invent! 🚀

Good luck, inventors! We can’t wait to see what you create this year! 🧡💙

Helping your child succeed in school doesn't have to mean more homework. 💙

Some of the most important skills kids need—problem solving, creativity, communication, and resilience—are built through everyday moments at home.

Try these simple strategies this week:
✨ Ask "Why do you think that happened?"
✨ Let them solve small problems on their own.
✨ Read together and talk about the story.
✨ Make time to build, create, and invent.
✨ Praise effort instead of perfection.

These small habits help children develop confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning—skills that last far beyond the classroom.

Every idea on this wall came from a student who looked at the world around them and thought, “There has to be a better way.”

At Innovation Station, we don’t ask kids to invent the next million-dollar product. We teach them how to identify problems, think critically, ask questions, and create solutions that matter to them.

Because innovation isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about having the confidence to ask, “What if?”

Imagine what could happen if every child believed their ideas were worth sharing.

✨ Every inventor starts with one idea.

What if we stopped asking, "Who will become an inventor?" and started asking, "How can every child think like one?" 💡

The goal of invention education isn't to have every student leave with the next million-dollar idea. It's to help them develop the skills they'll use for the rest of their lives: problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, resilience, and confidence.

At Innovation Station Kits, students create solutions to problems they experience. That means every child has something valuable to contribute, regardless of their academic level.

Because invention education isn't for a select few.
It's for every student. 🚀

The future belongs to kids who can think critically, solve problems, and create—not just consume.

That’s why hands-on learning in elementary school matters more than ever.

The earlier we teach kids to build, invent, and think independently, the more prepared they’ll be for a world that values creativity over memorization.
