What are your children's homework routines? Do they have a dedicated place to work? A preferred time? Homework does not have to be done right after school. It's ok to give them a chance to play right after school, while there is still daylight! You can set aside some time after dinner for them to complete homework, before baths and bedtime. My kids preferred to do their homework sitting in the living room together - we just didn't have the tv on (though they usually had their own music going). And yes, you'll have to plan dinner early enough to give them time to complete homework before bedtime.
