In addition to celebrating promotions, end of the year activities included 5th graders planting Rivera's Red Maple to bring shade in the future, critical thinking games and reading while dreaming of a spectacular summer.
You did it Patriots!!

Principal Rivera had one more Positive Patriot Lunch Bunch today with a group of amazing students. They earned this by making safe choices, building connections and giving their best effort academically in class. We enjoyed a bit of icecream and a few rounds of silent speed ball. Way to go Patriots!

This month Winegard has been transformed to enjoy all the wonderful artifacts created by different grade levels in celebration of the Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month and the National Arab American Month. Today students and staff will get a chance to travel to new lands and learn about the cultures in Hawaii, China, Isreal, Japan, and Asian Pacific. 🌍

This is your proud principal, Ms. Rivera. Winegard Elementary indeed has a bright future, because we have an elite group of educators and a supportive community committed to student success.

Today I am writing to you with mixed emotions. I will be leaving Winegard ES to become the principal at Lake Weston Elementary. While I am honored to have been selected, this means that my time at Winegard Elementary must come to an end. The Winegard family has held a huge piece of my heart over the last five years and the memories will last a lifetime.

It has been an honor to lead Winegard as your principal and a rewarding experience to serve our community and amazing scholars. Staff, you are dedicated advocates for our children, who have a deep commitment to student success.

The connections we have made with parents, families, and community members has filled me with tremendous joy and pride. Patriot families, your willingness to partner with me and my staff has been vital to our growth and achievements.

The new principal replacing me will be Christina Howell. She comes with a wealth of experience, commitment and a passion for student success. We will be collaborating during the transition process and I am confident Winegard will be in good hands.

Thank you again for the opportunity to serve as your leader. Your perseverance and dedication, especially over the difficult time we have faced together this last year, will be my foundation as I embark on a new journey.

Never forget to continue to grow Winegard as a place for safety, connection and problem solving.

The Oak ridge Neighborhood Center for Families will be hosting another community blood drive on May 25 from 9:30am – 2:30pm. Appointments are required. Please refer to the flyer for additional information!

We want to give a special shout out of appreciation to all the parents, guardians and scholars who put forth the extra effort to have perfect attendance during State Assessments. We had 112 3rd grade students, 88 4th grade students and 89 5th grade students with their names entered into our raffle drawing for incentives and gift cards.
Two F2F and one LE Patriot won the Grand Prize of a gift card to our PIE Target!
Winegard is certainly on the road to succcess!

Winegard Young Men of Excellence Grand Finale!
Thanks to our Partners in Ed, Olive Garden and Jennifer Stuckey, our gentlemen dressed for success and practiced using their manners learned this year. We appreciate the support of SRO Jason, Dean Besedick, Mr. Russell, Coach Jake and Mr. Hector. These mentors are amazing role models for our scholars. We couldn't have made this happen without the super planning of PEL Ms. Muchow and Ms. Theodoredis.
We are so proud of these positive Patriots!
