Did you know that about 90 percent of the brain’s motor control abilities are devoted to your hands, mouth, and throat? With this in mind, experts state that the fine dexterity involved in playing a violin can exercise your entire brain and stimulate intelligence.

In piano music, there are 12 possible keys that any particular song can be played in (corresponding to the 12 notes on the piano keyboard). The possible keys are: A, A #/B-flat, B, C, C #/D-flat, D, D #/E-flat, E, F, F #/G-flat, G, and G #/A-flat.

Believe it or not, guitars are made for both right- and left-handed musicians. Traditionally, the dominant hand is used to pluck or strum the strings, while the other hand depresses the strings along the neck to change the notes.

It’s important to remember that learning to play an instrument is about so much more than simply making it produce the sound you want. If you’re playing it incorrectly, you may find it more difficult to pick up the advanced techniques as you progress.

There are a number of different types of drum lessons available to you if you are just starting out. In fact, the best and fastest way to learn is to study the drums that you like to listen to. For example, if you like jazz music, then learn jazz drums. If you are a big band drum lover, then learn big band.

Some may not be aware of the strain that occurs on their fingers when they play guitar. This can actually be remedied by practicing frequently. The consistency allows your fingers to get acclimated to the feel of the strings and alleviate any possible discomfort.
