When should I leave the U.S. after my I-20 expires? 🤔
If you’ve completed your program, you have a 60-day Grace Period to wrap up your time in the U.S. During this period, you can prepare to leave, change your visa status, or transfer to another SEVP-certified school. However, if you completed an ESL program, you can only transfer to a college or university, not to another ESL program. Make sure to plan accordingly!
👉 Remember: if your I-20 is canceled, there’s no Grace Period, and you and your dependents must leave the U.S. immediately.
For specific questions, always check with the DSO at your school—they’re there to guide you! 🧡
