3rd Wheel dot Org Multi-cultural hand drumming, drum kit, and emergent storytelling bringing art to life through the magic of musical education for all ages.

3rd Wheel dot Org is a community organization based in Orlando, Florida. Our professional percussion troupe employs top-talent creating sustainable business practices through keeping it local, referring you to others in your area when possible and purchasing our instruments and costumes from fair trade organizations that support village life in Africa and elsewhere. We believe in the education and

survival of cultural traditions the world over. It is our goal to share our love of different musical and dance backgrounds internationally while also expanding the life skills, wellness factors and cognitive benefits conferred by these activities. We have teachers for all your drumming needs (djembe, dundun, doumbek, drum kit, snare technique, ensemble playing, grooves for rock bands and more.)

I am a drummer and drum teacher, but seeing a baby grand in front of a mantle all bundled in yule stirs me to try the piano.

The drummer should not just listen to the notes. She should hear the wind in the trees, the call of the falcon in the distance, the rush of fabric on the dancer. The drummer should tune in to all the rhythms great and small shaping the atmosphere around her. Then her playing tickles the spaces between and create connections unseen.
