Congratulations to our Slam Team Xiania Marie Campbell, Sean Glatch, Lizzie Kristina, Amy Pho, and Jose Lopez for getting first place at Louder Than A Bomb College Slam! They couldn’t have gotten there without the help of their coach Brook Carter. A special thank you to her parents James Carter and Ellen Wolfson for being an amazing guide and treating us to lunch and ice cream. One last special thank you to everyone who either has donated to the GoFundMe or supported us!! This was definitely one to remember! Project SPIT was in full effect!!
Good Evening,
For those of you who donated to our gofundme, we are no longer competing at CUPSI. This is due to the Student Government Association not processing our allocation correctly. While we cannot refund you, the money will not be wasted. It will be split between the two other competitions we are competing at, Louder Than A Bomb (LTAB) and Southern fried. LTAB is a regional slam we competed at last year. Southern Fried is a slam poetry competition where individuals and teams from southern states can compete against each other for a cash prize. You will also be given a chapbook, containing indies from all the team, the president, and the coach. This is free of charge. If you would like one or have any questions/concerns regarding what happened, feel free to contact either our slam coordinator, Brook Carter, or our president, Xiania Campbell. Brook Carter’s information is [email protected]. Xiania Campbell’s information is [email protected]. We apologize for your funds not going towards the exact poetry competition you donated towards. We have learned our lesson, you cannot trust SGA with funding. Thank you for being understanding at this time.
