This week’s Rocket of the Week is Ms. Downer!
As our 6th grade ELA lead, she goes above and beyond to ensure excellence not only in her own classroom, but across our entire campus. Ms. Downer is a driving force behind strong ELA instruction, consistently supporting her colleagues with thoughtful planning, intentional delivery, and meaningful feedback that helps move both teachers and students forward. She is a trusted leader who others naturally turn to, and she approaches every opportunity to support with professionalism, positivity, and a true passion for student success.
What truly sets Ms. Downer apart is the culture she builds with both staff and students. She is a safe and reliable space for teachers, offering guidance, encouragement, and mentorship that strengthens our entire team. At the same time, she creates a classroom environment where students feel seen, heard, and valued. By meeting students where they are, she empowers them to take ownership of their learning and builds the confidence they need to grow. Her ability to form strong, authentic relationships makes a lasting impact on our school community.
We are incredibly proud of Ms. Downer and grateful for the leadership, heart, and dedication she brings to Saturn Elementary every single day. She truly embodies what it means to be a Rocket, and our campus is better because of her.
