Good morning YMCA parents and students! Just a follow-up regarding Hurricane Ian, the YMCA After School Zone will be CLOSED today so our staff can make preparations of their own. Please plan to pick up your child upon dismissal. There will be 2 staff here to make sure everyone gets home safely, but we would really appreciate all students to be picked up as soon as possible. Get ready for soccer season! Discovery is hosting a sports physicals night on August 11 from 6-8 pm. The physical is $25 - cash only. A sports physical is required to try out for soccer on August 15. Make sure you have your paperwork filled out. You can find the paperwork at https://tinyurl.com/OCPSphys2022. Middle school students fill out the entire packet except page 11. Page 11 is for high school students only.

Registration is now open for the 2022-2023 school year for both before and after school programs. It's going to be an exciting year!

It's that time again that the YMCA Middle School Programs would like your opinion on our clubs. The survey takes less than a few minutes to complete and it helps us with anything that we are doing right, improvements and suggestions.

** YMCA SUMMER ZONE UPDATE **
We had a meeting with our Directors today regarding Summer Zone. Although we don't know everything yet we are committed to keeping you informed as soon as we learn any information.

Our camp will run Monday - Friday from June 1st - July 23rd and it will be FREE! The YMCA and OCPS are still working out the hours to accommodate our custodians being able to disinfect the school after camp is over. There will be a cap on the amount of students we will be able to register but this again is being worked out with OCPS and each school's available space to make sure we are able to social distance our students.

We are very proud that Discovery Middle has been chosen as one of the few sites to hold Summer Zone. As we hear more information we will be sure to communicate it here. The YMCA is working hard to have all information available to parents as soon as possible and the hope is to have it prior to Spring Break.
