So proud of our girl!

🌟 Senior Spotlight: Maria 🌟
Osceola High School - SDOC
CTE Program: Hospitality

Maria is being recognized as a Senior Spotlight in the Hospitality Pathway at Osceola High School for her dedication, growth, and strong skills in event planning and business development.

After graduation, Maria plans to attend Valencia College for two years before transferring to University of Central Florida, where she will pursue a degree in Business Marketing. As a PMI-certified student, she has already demonstrated strong abilities in planning, organizing, and executing successful events.

Maria credits Ms. Woodring for helping her develop key skills in budgeting, purchasing, and event planning. She also shared appreciation for the patience and support she received, especially when she began the program with limited English skills—support that made a lasting impact on her success and confidence.

Looking ahead, Maria hopes to work for a destination management company or eventually start her own event planning business. Her experience in the Hospitality Pathway has helped prepare her for a future built on organization, creativity, and leadership.

🌟 We are proud of Maria’s accomplishments and excited to see all she achieves in her future career.

Snippets from the last few days celebrating our seniors 💙💛

From attending the AVID Awards Night to Senior Awards Night, it has been incredible to see so many of our academy students recognized as leaders both inside and outside the classroom. Some are current students, and some are former academy students, but each of them will always hold a special place in the hearts of our academy teachers.

This year, we had 14 students qualify for our academy graduation cord — an accomplishment that represents years of dedication and hard work. To earn this honor, students completed all 4 years in the academy, maintained a 3.0 GPA in academy courses, passed at least one industry certification, and worked in the industry, volunteered at our events, or served in the community.

We are beyond proud of each and every one of you. Your leadership, perseverance, and commitment have set such an amazing example for those following behind you.

And for those heading directly into the industry — we will be watching and cheering you on every step of the way. We know you are going to do great things! 💙💛🎉

On Friday, we celebrated a huge accomplishment for our students—earning their industry certifications!

These certifications are more than just a credential—they open doors. They help our students stand out in interviews, show real-world skills, and give them a competitive edge as they step into the workforce. Even more importantly, they inspire a mindset of lifelong learning, encouraging our students to continue building their skills and earning additional certifications long after graduation.

We are especially proud of those who didn’t pass on their first attempt but refused to give up. Their determination to study harder, try again, and push through challenges truly reflects the resilience and work ethic that will take them far in life.

Many of these seniors are also program completers, dedicating all four years to our academy. Watching their growth—from day one to now—has been nothing short of amazing.

We couldn’t be prouder and can’t wait to see where their journeys take them next.
Congratulations, Class of 2026! 🎓💙💛💙💛💙💛
